There is zero chance that Hearn will leave Sky.

Sky couldn't afford to lose the match room casuals would be disastrous for business!

I don't think they would be too fussed about Matcroom boxing apart from the AJ PPVs. Sky would want to keep the darts though.

My impression is Sky and dazn are both happy for Eddie to resign with Sky in the short term.

In the longer term the plan is for Hearn to open up office in other territories and give Dazn content globally. You will find they will open an office in Asia, Sydney, Germany, Spain, South America. Eventually if all goes to plan both Sky and Dazn and Will share the Matchroom pie. Sky will target a deal with 4 PPVs a year and one show a month which Matchroom will end up utilise others to bring in. Such as the golden contract.

Dazn will request the biggest fights outside of the UK as the UK is not a major territory for them more of a loss leader due to population size. They will likely secure a deal that has 4 UK fight nights a year and 2 PPV level fights all of their biggest fights will be shows outside of UK but possibly utilise UK fighters such as the Canelo vs Smith fight.

that fight doesn’t draw massive PPv numbers in the US for Sky but is perfect for Dazn if sprinkled in along with cards like Saunders vs Murray that would lead to the winner of Canelo be smith etc.

think they will work with Matchroom as the other stable don’t run close

I can see DAZN trying to get Joshua as he really is the golden goose in UK boxing, eveything else is just extremely niche

Think it might be the other way around. Dazn get to air him globally.
Sky need the PPV revenue in a twice a year scenario.

Dazn need regular content to keep monthly subs up

They also need to attract numbers and nobody does that like Joshua. AJ isnt this HUGE global superstar that Hearn will have you believe. Once they get numbers they can start going after the bigger sports. Fact is boxing outside of the big UK fights rarely attracts viewers here hence why BT and Sky have basically given up bothering with the overseas fights.

Model would be a loss leader in the UK only way it would work would be to tie him down globally. In order to generate similar income for AJ in the UK as a PPV would be to have close to 1.5 million subs for his fights everytime even against the likes of Pulev.

only way it works is if they agree to take a hit and pay him more on the overseas rights. But if your theory is right amd he’s not an overseas draw it wouldn’t make much sense.

however if he fights someone like Zhang. Giving up the UK rights is much better for them as it would open a whole new Asian territory for them

Who else can sky go with?

Warren feeding bums to Yarde and Dubois who won’t be fighting anyone with a pulse anytime soon.

hennysey who has the odd Friday night fight on channel 5? I’m actually quite looking forward to the spider Richards fight this Friday as it’s been postponed since march

My ears are still buzzing listening to those Tommy Tanks on DAZN last night - they talk sense but I cannot take the accent.
