Roy Jones Jr. vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. and let's say that they're in the same weight, who would win?

so because Roy looked spectacular against Vinny Pazienza or Bryant Brannon we're going to pick him against the greatest master of timing of our generation?

please, Jones struggled mightily against the upper echelons. yes, he outclassed a young James Toney. That's great...put him on the Hall of Fame, that doesnt translate into a win over Floyd! and outside of JT and an inexperienced B-Hop still finding his true style, Jone feasted on mostly no hopers like Richard Frazier, or that Australian guy he KOd with his hands behind his back....or washed up has-beens like a 50 year old McCallum.

Jones looked completely ordinary against the likes of Montell Griffith, Anthony Tarver, neither of which are stylistic geniuses, and even Lou Devalle got a piece of that @ss....and that was all before Jones was faded!

I honestly think this would be a great fight, a great stylistic matchup, and quite possible even a 50/50 fight...

but all these haters that come out of the wood work to blanket statement that Floyd 'loses badly' every time one of these hypothetical matches gets tossed around ar either completely uneducated casuals, DKSAB, or stay up all night in bed thinking about how much they hate Floyd and how much they hate to see him be successful

Bull****. I really do respect Floyd but nobody looks good trying to counterpunch a guy that big fast and unorthodox. Not to mention he'd be the hardest hitter Floyd ever fought.

speaking p4p wise I would rate at least Canelo, corrales, and may be even Gatti when he lands all above Jones in terms of power.
jones is more along the lines of Mosely ir Pac who kill you with speed shots you dont see coming. jones just did it with one punch instead of combos. kinda like Andersin Silver from the UFC.
    floyd would do just fine

Roy never had an open defence.

It was extremely unorthodox but highly effective.

A terrible stylistic match up for Floyd.

Floyd was a safety first fighter with hand issues at WW.

At JMW he could never have contained Roy.

Too big, too fast, too strong, too much power.

Floyd would have fought very defensively.

He’d never have engaged a guy with Roy’s offence.

Gatti didn`t finish people with one punch the way Jones finished Tate and Griffin, having said tat Jones was bigger than the people he knocked, Griffin wasn`t hard punching light heavy.

The young green Jones jr. That fought at 154 would whoop the Flotd that fought Canel, Oscar, and Cotto. If you made them the same size Jones Jr. still whoops him.

That wasn`t a one punch KO, he got to his feet.

No, Roy wasn`t as good as Floyd when he started his career.
