According to Povetkin's promoter, Andrey Ryabinsky, his boxer is taking longer to recover from COVID than they had expected.

A tentative date for the rematch was January 30th, but that is now not possible.

Povetkin was taken to the hospital for a second time after symptoms returned.

At this point it'd be some secondary issue. He's already recovered from covid so I bet he got some pneumonia now for his troubles.

    He needs to retire.
I've been saying it for a few years now but this (assuming it is true) confirms it.

That idiot Whyte is still talking **** and doesn't deserve a chance of revenge on a covid-ravaged old man.

    I hope Povetkin gets well.

    He will probably retire.
He will have ended his career with that devastating win against Whyte.

I wish he could nick a victory against WBC Champion Tyson Fury before retirement.

    Povetkin's last five fights

    Price in the UK
    AJ in the UK
    Hughie in the UK
    Hunter in Saudi
    Whyte in the UK

He was 38 y/o when he fought Price for goodness sake, 39-40 when he fought AJ, Hughie and Hunter, and two weeks shy of his 41st birthday when he fought Whyte

Agreed on the spot to rematch Whyte in the UK even though he sparked him out cold in biblical fashion. Neither Whyte or Hearn would've agreed to Whyte taking on Povetkin in his backyard in a million years, let alone agreed to rematch him over there had Whyte sparked him out cold in their first fight.

But Whyte's acting like Povetkin's ducking him and feigning having Covid

It favours Whyte the longer the fight's delayed not Prehistoric Povetkin

Whyte isn't going to get a dance partner for years

    Wilder won't fight him

AJ Fury are dancing throughout 2021

Who is left? lol...Andy Ruiz Jr? Interesting fight but again one of them doesn't want it as it fell through before. Style wise it should be a barnstormer.

    He could rematch Parker.
I thought the first one was a pretty good fight.

Yes, Ruiz vs Whyte would be an interesting fight. But Haymon fighters usually are kept in-house unless there is a world title on the line, so Ruiz vs. Breazeale is more likely.

Whyte vs. Hrgovic would be easier to make.

Whyte is a complete fool who deserves nothing but another brutal KOing.

He does not even have a brain cell to even acknowledge or respect Povetkin for what he did to him at his ripe old age.
I do hope Pov retires, he has proved his worth and took his lumps like a man.

Whyte needs to accept he is what he is, a fool.

I'm sure the promoters and the BBBC will insist on giving him adequate time to recover and a rigorous independent medical examination and won't put profit before the health of an aging, non-English speaking boxer.

Or maybe they'll throw a sick middle aged man at a prime heavyweight with a grudge and see what happens.

Whyte is scum. This is the guy who called out Haye for a fight immediately after he was KO'd by Bellew for a second time!

According to Povetkin's friend Lebedev, Povetkin lost so much weight that he weights less than a cruser now. He won't fight in a near future.

Sounds like Povetkin got "Long covid"

Which would mean he is never boxing again due to permanent organ damage.

    Guys a piece of crap

    Thinks he is something special

I genuinely hope Sasha retires and he never gets the opportunity to avenge his loss

Rematch clauses on Mandatory status fights
    Pft Hearn you arse

    Id love to see it
Hrgovic would brutally beat him up
