Roy Jones Jr. vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. and let's say that they're in the same weight, who would win?

Yes he was. Roy was always very good. At jr.middle he crushes Mayweather. Too fast. Too strong.
Mayweather had problems with the speed of Zab- Roy is a whole other ballgame.

 

Zab was not in his prime when he faced Mayweather.
I hope he was better tben Roy in 1989 as Roy had JUST turned pro.
Zab when ne was coming up was like a mix of Pea with some pop. I honestly don't know what happened other then assuming everything came too easy for him and he lacked discipline maybe

 

Roy would have whooped Floyd's arse. He was much too fast and athletic. Not to mention his unorthodox boxing skills would have given Floyd fits. One punch power in both hands also.

 

Prime Roy Jones Jr was the best fighter I ever saw and probably ever will see. Just wish he would’ve retired after John Ruiz. Had he done so he would be remembered much, much differently.

 

I’m talking about in my lifetime. I never saw Ray Robinson live. RJJ was a physical marvel. He was also probably on PEDs considering the time period but logical to assume so was everyone he was fighting.

 

Not sure I agree with that. You have 2 speedsters, one significant faster, but one with IMO better range control, timing and defense.

It’ll be skills vs speed & athleticism. I think swarm messy styles like Maidana give Floyd more trouble than RJJ who fights in the center, at mid range - Floyds range.

ultimately this comes down to who’s taller, if RJJ is taller, that range control that Floyd relies on is somewhat nullified and RJJ dominates him, stops him even, but if Floyd is taller, I pick him easy. If they’re the same height, 50/50.

floyds whole thing is distance control and timing. Maidana took that away from him on first fight, he restablished it on the 2nd.

Well assuming that this is a p4p conversation, Jones height would be scaled down to size too. I mean, you don't picture a WW Mike Tyson as 5'10 do you?
