bearing in mind his age and news about this covid, repeated hospitalisation. Not sure that he might fight soon. most likely retire.

Whyte is a completely unskilled hype job. Wilder and Ruiz electing to take other fights isn't a duck whatsoever. Additionally, you have zero clue of what went on behind the scenes anyways. If you want to call every fight that didn't happen a duck more power to you

Whyte is a Glass Jawed joke. The guy can't fight. Why do the Brits on here act like Whyte is some force in the Heavyweight Division? The guy is mediocre just like Chisora was. Povetkin will shatter that China Chin all over again.

Realistically, no one ducks a guy who's just been sparked out with one punch by a 40 year old.

Interesting that you mention Ortiz turning down the AJ fight. Whyte did the same thing months earlier.

Fans do overuse the word "duck" kinda like "bum" and "glass jaw".
However, and Covid has just been a convenient excuse, these HWs should fight a bit more frequently. It appears once they make a few big purses and have money to retire on, most start acting like prima donnas. Arguing on who's more of the "A side" who's more popular, etc. and "fighting" on social media :gayfight:

Like maybe one more bout per year. That would bring most of them up to a torrid pace of two, maybe three fights per year

Refusing to fight the number one ranked opponent that regularly mocked him whilst he fought lesser opposition and could of much more money fighting Whyte not a duck?

Turning down I think was the reported 4 or 5 m to fight Whyte only to be scheduled to fight Arreola instead not a duck.

They also thought the same about Povetkin

Wilder blatantly did everything he could to avoid him

Povetkin should take this as a sign for retirement.

The virus probably did some damage to his lungs already. He won't be the same even if he comes back.

A clear cut ending does not mean the fight was not competitive and that a rematch is out of order. I don't see how a rematch is outrageous. And if there was a clause, then there's going to be a rematch. I've seen worse. Whyte was in the fight. Pov won't have to do it a third time if he wins, that's not going to happen.

Maybe...But where is the evidence that everyone with Long Covid has permanent organ damage?
There are long term effects, but I do not believe Doctors conclude from an illness that they have only had for months nobody ever recovers.
