I see a great contest similar to Larry Holmes vs Kenny Norton in 1979. Whilst I am going for AJ to win and have great respect for Fury, this great sport of ours Boxing will be the winner.

The Tuscaloser also has Nigerian heritage but unlike AJ he wasn't raised on the mean streets of Britain so the edge was taken off whatever powers his heritage imbued him with.

I agree that AJ is a different animal to The Tuscaloser and I afford him that respect. However, when you were born into a world where you're fighting grown 200lb + men on the cobbles when you're a mere toddler, and I'm not just talking random bods on the street I mean feared street fighting and legendary bare knuckle champions, fear is simply not a word in your vocabulary and I can assure you Tyson had slain far more formidable foes than AJ before he'd even hit puberty.

Spot on mate apart from it was Fury who won the 2nd round and the 3rd was even before they pulled Joshua out.

I just found the thread where i posted the video but not surprisingly it's no longer on Youtube. Aj management have done an Al Haymon lol. Maybe Sean Murphy discusses it in other interviews.

So yes, this sparring story was just usual sensationalism from Fury. Joshua did not beat him up. Far from it.

If the fight comes off, both will likely approach with great respect for the other. People on this board will go on about how Ruiz exposed AJ, but Fury will likely not take much from that fight since Ruiz is such a vastly different fighter. He will know the his facing a top jabber and finisher and someone who's dangerous on every distance.

And AJ will know that not only is he facing the best pure boxer in the division, but someone who can brawl as well.

No he does not all. He wants to claim it the Tuscaloosa but we have rejected him! AJ is from the same place I am and we are blessed with things unfathomable to mere humans. AJ has the benefits of his heritage, being brought on the mean streets of Britain and short periods of schooling in Nigeria. That is an unbeatable combination. By the way he also has some Irish blood in him from his fathers side Big Josh. Can you imagine if that Irish blood is in fact Irish Gypsy blood?

Try and rewrite history if you like but it was Fury’s spoken words on tape that volunteered the information how a novice AJ beat him up.

I agree that's a formidable combination but I can assure he has zero gypsy blood in him because my gypsy nostrils would've detected it immediately. However, I will concede that he may well have accidentally inhaled some of Fury's gypsy dust when they sparred each other. Even the most minute dose of gypsy dust is extremely potent to non-gypsies.

Be objective you clown. We all know Fury talks nonsense and constantly exaggerates things. Probably was in a manic mood and decided to heap praise on the unknown kid who impressed him in the gym.

I'll take the much more rational Sean Murphy's word for it. Bearing in mind he was being interviewed straight after Joshua bought him a car. The video was on youtube which i shared on here and other places a couple of times. No rewriting of history. I can point you to the threads, and although the video is no longer on youtube, it's clear people in the thread managed to view it at the time.

    @Olu G. Rotimi

Here is exactly what Joshua's coach said in that deleted video:

Murphy said: "I think Tyson may of underestimated him a bit, he's come out he's gone 1-2-3 and Joshua's gone pop-pop-uppercut and wobbled him.

"He's [Fury] grabbed hold of the ropes and I've gone, 'oi you can't hold the ropes,' Tyson went 'oh sorry-sorry,' first round I'd say Joshua won it, he out boxed him.

"Then second round Tyson started playing around a little bit, giving him a little bit of verbal and Joshua was trying to look for the big punch.

"Then obviously Tyson was just picking him off then.

"So he's [Joshua] come back I've told him off and said you've got to do in the third round what you did in the first round and just box him.

"It was a pretty even third round, so then I said 'jump out Josh' and then Tyson Fury's going 'I'll give him one more round' and I said no you've done alright and said Josh get out."

I am aware of the interview and threads. My point Wally is that AJ has never made an issue of it all only Fury put it out there. I am making a bigger point which is while Fury talks a lot and exaggerates things, AJ actually says little or next to nothing about Fury which denies Fury Oxygen.

Like I said and I repeat again AJ says nothing about this or next to nothing about Fury. He does not give Fury oxygen and the few times he does say anything he gets under Fury skin such as saying he needs new management and offered him 258 Management to to manage him. Of course Fury took the bait. After the fight on Saturday AJ did not give Fury oxygen rather emphasised wanting the WBC belt whoever the champion is. If it’s Fury so be it.
