Just listened his story of Boxing Life Stories (Which is a great podcast) and his story was very interesting but I do get the impression that he's a bit of a bullshitter, he stated that he was 'the mayor' of the area he lived in when he was younger which he was implying that he was the tough guy and pretty much ran the area. Anyone know if he's legit or full of ****?
Did he repeat everything twice? I don’t understand why we insist on having American people speak in a microphone. Fair enough if you want Buffer for the big fights but for the others what’s wrong with one of the fellas they used to have? It probably costs a fraction of the costs for these and it doesn’t seem as naff as having the wannabe Buffer feel.

It creates a bit of an old school vibe I suppose. Their commentators, pundits and ring announcers are way better than ours.
I hate the old repeating the surname thing with a passion. Matchroom get a lot right but they don’t realise that Americans watching their shows want to hear a British announcer. By some heaven sent miracle his hairline has mysteriously improved in recent months so it’s not all bad.
I like the repeating of the surnames, reminds me when I was a young boy watching boxing with my old man. He's a decent ring announcer, bet his hair stinks tho, probably got dog ends, chewing gum, all sorts in it lol.
I noticed that too - he was definitely receding at the front - widow's peak style but now he's not! It's the miraculous hair restoring hat that done it again. It worked for Reg Dwight - that's one for the kids.
