Don’t recall saying he beat great shws. But the argument being presented is weight equates a superior advantage. Vingo was 189-192 I believe def wasn’t 179. But that’s beside the point. Lee Savold Cockell schkor Wilson were good fighters as well. None world beaters but they knew how to fight and most were ranked at either time of beating or other times. But none of which you said proved your point anyway. How does knocking out men over 200 pounds 11 for 11 times hurt the argument that Marciano can hang w these people? If your answe is anything but it doesn’t you’re not worth having a discussion with.

I think the argument being presented is that the modern enhanced Superheavyweights could not exist in older times before super heavyweights could be fully enhance into the unnatural specimens we see today.

I think it has been proven that whilst super heavyweights existed, they could not and did not exist as they do now.

We could also ask, what modern PEDs would have done for super heavyweights of the past.

Like, for example, Carnera. Would he have been able to be even bigger and more muscular, than he was without PEDs - and if so, would that have been beneficial and made him a better boxer?

And what about Abe Simon... who at 6'4", 255 lbs was already massiv? What would modern PEDs have done for him? What about Buddy Baer - would PEDs have given him some sort of talent, that would make him look different from the boxer we see in the old footage?

I have read that Carnera was really only 6'-5" tall.

All that muscle isn`t the issue, it`s the fact that they couldn`t move like Fury and couldn`t put their punches together like AJ, they were poorly schooled.

Carnera with more muscle would have been slow as hell and even more clumsy.

Muscle actually makes you faster (up to the natural limit, not including steroid use), which is why sprinters are pretty muscular. (Usain bolt is three inches short and five pounds heavier than Wilder), it just makes you gas much more quickly.

No getting into positions quick has nothing to do with muscle, Fury is quicker than the stiffer AJ.

Is this the argument now? No one can properly explain why shws didn’t rule for before the cruiser division. So the argument is none of them knew how to box? Talk about stretches.

It would have enhanced their performance. Just like the fighters today.

PEDs would “enhance” their output, recovery and timing. Faster. Stronger.

Technique fades with fatigue. Well performance enhancing drugs help with fatigue.

All PED`s do is aid recovery while lifting weights so you don`t have to rest as much in between reps so can put on muscle quicker, fundamentals are more important than PED`s these aren`t sprinters.

Typically boxers will take steroids like Clenbuterol or Human Growth Hormone or something along those lines. These are the types of steroids that help to cut weight, aid in quick recovery and/or help with your cardio. ... Boxers want to be as small and lean as absolutely possible for their frame.

I believe it was 6'5.5". And someone on this forum said he once fought at 284 lbs.
I do not think that having even more muscle could have helped him or Simon.
They already carried nearly as much muscle as any modern SHW. More would hurt their movement & endurance.
But modern training & weightlifting techniques to increase their speed & explosiveness might-likely would.
