Caleb Plant vs. #43 rated Truax Next - Yet he calls for Canelo!? WTF

The fight is inevitable if Canelo wants all the?straps at 168. I think if Canelo can beat smith, the plant fight happens in may.

 

Canelo offered him a short notice / short turn around fight and he wouldn't accept the BS.
In case people haven't worked it out yet, if you don't submit to unreasonable terms or possibly allow yourself to be utterly walked over, you are likely to be rejected by ''A side'' Canelo. Then the cheerleaders come out and defend their corrupt hero, telling everyone the opponents are ducking him.

 

Everyone deserves a fight with whoever the champ is. I also don't like the way PBC allows it's fighters to constantly fight lower tier guys because it does not prepare them for the tough bouts, but if Golovkin can fight bum after bum and get praise then props to Sweet Hands Plant too.

 

Wish he would fight someone better but Truax is an ex champion. From my understanding Plant is putting crazy pressure on PBC to deliver him Benavidez but Benavidez’s promoter doesn’t feel he’s dedicated enough yet. At this point when it come to the SMWs they’re all gonna play it safe until Canelo chooses them.

BJS just fought the corpse of Martin Murray and Smith just fought Ryder and N’dam N’Jikam. That’s always the downside when a cash cow is in a division guys are gonna be carefully matched to keep the belt in hopes of having their names picked.

I've been a truax fan for years but he doesn't deserve this shot. I know he held the ibf a few years ago and that has kept him near the top of their ranks but he hasn't had a meaningful win since 2017

This fight is a waste of our time. However sifting the ibfs top 10 is a graveyard.

 

Truax is currently no. 6 in the Ring rankings at 168 for some reason.

 

Plant is already in line for a big money fight, Truax is a known name with little risk so it's smart matchmaking for Plant not to risk his big money fights. Canelo would be a great fight next spring for Plant, Benavediz I don't look for since I doubt he'll ever see 168 again.

 

unreasonable terms dont exist in this situations. Plant, and most fighters lobbying publicly for the canelo payday, add nothing to the event. Canelo is the one that singlehandedly has to push the sales and generate the buzz, he isnt just the most known fighter ,his organization is also the organizer and investor who takes the economical risk in these fights . In a contract when you are unilaterrally providing everything you can demand whatever you want.

 

yeah i could see canelo fighting the winner of that this coming spring. This is a chance for caleb to look good and then get the canelo fight for real this time.

 

All you have to do is stay ready if your trying to fight canelo. At this point it's just a lame excuse to say no to the biggest fight in boxing over how much notice your given. You know you want it now so train for it like it's happening

 

Plant doesn't really want to fight Canelo, otherwise he would've. He's had 2 opportunities now. His name being thrown around is all he really wants. He has no desire to fight Canelo, David or Callum. He'll select the path of least resistance as long as he can be showcased. The Mike Lee then subsequent fights should show that.

Sidenote: Can you call Truax a journeyman? I mean, he is an ex titlist.............no matter how brief.

 

Truax is not a name. He's known amongst us hardcore, but not anyone else outside of his town in Minnesota.
