Opinion, Wladimir is terrible style wise for Ali.

Holmes yes, but foreman was basically a punching bag with a sledgehammer. He would get hit way too much

Young Foreman beats Wlad and is 50/50 against Lewis IMO. The only other modern super heavies near that level is Vitali, Fury and AJ. A skilled big man is going to be tough in any era but all of these men have shown they can be hurt/beaten by an average size 70s heavyweight (6'3 210-225)

I think foreman also loses to Wlad. Smaller, slower, less skilled, and pretty easy to hit

Go rewatch Wlad Povetkin for the hundredth time and dissent it to pieces like the closet Wlad fanboy you are.

Go on. You know you want to. :naughty2:

Ali would beat Wlad but Vitali would give him problems.

Ultimately I would give the victory to Ali over both brothers

Ali loved bigger guys like Wlad because they were easier targets. Landing clean punches on Wlad is a lot easier than it is on a guy like Frazier, who’s head was always moving.

Also, Wlad wouldn’t be able to bully Ali like he did Povetkin, Haye, and Byrd. Ali could be every bit as dirty as Wlad if not moreso if it came down to Wlad trying to use his wrestling tactics on Ali.

But Holmes was exceptional in the 80s and heavyweights still weren't the giants they are today this changed in the Klitchko era. Holmes didn't really fight any decent heavyweights in the 90s except for mcCall and he lost. Foreman is different because he was an absolute beast of a puncher think about it logically Ali was roughly the same size as David Haye who was a cruiserweight now Haye aint as big a name as Ali and nowhere near as great but do you think Ali could beat Haye easily was he more powerful as fast as he was for his time was he really quicker then Haye as much as Ali could beat him considering the gulf in stature do you think Ali would make it look easy I dont. Athletes become better as time goes on in all sports its a fact I don't see how boxing is an exception for most caees

Gaye beating Ali ... even Gaye would laugh at that ludicrous pipe dream

Did you see how small Pulev looked against Joshua? Ali was smaller than Pulev. Vlad would beat him. Size matters, even to Ali.

I am picking Wlad as I said, but to be fair, Joshua has lost to somebody shorter than Ali before, and within the past 18 months.

And though Ruiz may claim to be 6'2, only an inch shorter than Ali, in reality, based on how he looks next to Joshua and Parker, I really don't think he's over 6', I think he's 6' flat, and in amateur he was often marked at 6'1.

All that said, fighters are beginning to become far too large for the golden era fighters.

now you've gone and done it!
cassius clay enjoys total golden calf status and has the most protected reputation of anyone I can think of.

to question anything about his legacy is sacrilege, and to suggest anyone could challenge him in the ring will surely bestow hatred and ridicule upon you.

dont count on anyone actually providing intelligent insight to rebuff your dangerous statements. just be prepared for dismissive, one line responses from people who have most likely never even seen more than 2 or 3 of his fights.

for the record, I agree Klitschko would beat Clay, but not necessarily because of his left hook, although that could just be an added factor. Klitschko was also king of the clinches, which would effectively nullify many of Clay's opportunities to put on one of his supposed boxing clinics. and if we're talking about post Vietnam Clay, that version took way to many punches to try and mix it up with someone who has klitschkos size and power

Ali w today’s training would be 228 or so w his naturally large legs. Ali had his own huge reach and outstanding speed. He’d be too fast but Wlad would be a very tough challenge for sure.

    Fast hands always bothered Klitschko
