For such a high octane fighter, I would think he would be champing at the bit to get back. Last news heard awhile ago, was some obscure alpha holder from China or his mando, Galahad.
Warrington is the ultimate ticket seller. Without a crowd I would be shocked if he fought all his money is at the gate.
Article in Daily Star (reliable I know...) other day said after interviewing Eddie Hearn that Feb 6th is the provisional date for him to fight Can Xu for the IBF, WBA & Ring. Said if he beats Can Xu and unifies then it’s likely he’ll drop the IBF which will then be contested by Galahad and Jazza Dickens.
It will be a big help for Josh and Eddie if Leeds went into tier 2 and they could at least take some gate.
Great fighter Warrington. One of our best. To beat the quality of Selby, Frampton and Galahad, you have to be top tier. I for one had to eat humble pie, as I thought he had no chance against Selby, never mind Frampton and Galahad. Top Class.
Without the revenue of the Leeds crowd, Warrington is an expensive hindrance to Eddie. I suspect they are holding out, in hope that they can get even a small percentage of people in to help pay the bill.
Can’t see crowds being back until April/May maybe even later in the main cities where the arenas are though, so he needs to get him out soon before it’s 18 months that he’s been out of the ring.
