He actually weighed more than Wilder in some of his fights.

With the machinations of boxing today, and so many fighters, insiders, and fans willing to go along with it all, nobody in history stands much of a chance to be an undisputed champion today.

His defense was better than AJ`s.

I just don’t understand the standing Baer has achieved.
I’m trying to see it but just can’t.
All I see is an unskilled stalker with a big right hand and solid chin.
    Maybe it’s me!

The fact that Max Baer was so inconsisent that he made zero defenses (even against the biggest longshot in history to that point) and you have to make a point to say "not Clown Baer" ... answers your question.

But AJ can get away with it since he’s physically superior

I’d give Louis a great chance to beat Wilder

Max Bear had to be physically forced out of his dressing room against what I would call the arrival of the Modern heavy in Joe Louis and he folded like a house of cards.

Straight out of a time machine Baer would take a viscous beating from the top Heavies today..................

    His chin was his defense.

Louis would land hooks on AJ`s body which could sap AJ`s dodgy gas tank, Louis also fought at a fast pace, AJ can`t.
