This guy has his own promotional company now. Wow he really didn’t wanna take real fights with Top Rank. Let’s see how long it takes him to get in there with a live body. He’s fighting Alfonso Lopez next. Last time I remember seeing him was watching him get beat up by Kelly Pavlik a decade ago.

he will either continue fighting club fighters like lopez for the remainder of his career or cash out and get beat up by a top 10 fighter.

Lopez didn't get beat up by Pavlik lol, he actually gave him quite a tough fight by all accounts.

Now that he's free of Top Rank, he'll have a better opportunity to take on some top light heavyweights.

Is that what you call that? I guess when you’re a huge underdog and don’t get completely crushed it’s considered a tough fight. You know how that narrative goes. I watched that fight. The winner was never in doubt. And that was 10 yrs ago. Dude is pushing 40.

Zurdo reminds me of Deontay Wilder. His resume is razor thin.

Five years ago I was at a gym in Texas and they had a signed Alfonso Lopez poster on the wall, him with his title belt. ( I believe that he is the ABO champion?) I had never heard of him so I asked the gym owner who he was. He said "I don't know but he is a really friendly guy so when he gave me the poster I took it and put it up. Then I forgot to take it down."
