Joyce wins this More desire, more ring IQ and will frustate the average Parker who will run out of ideas Parker would also be meeting a fighter with a better chin that him and thats not something he has often if ever come up against
Parker puts on a clinic against Joyce. Joyce is tailor-made for a combination puncher! Especially a quick one. I don't think Parker needs to be concerned about the power of Joyce, as he's not a big puncher. He is an accumulative damage type of puncher.
Agree, Kiwi-boxer. Below is a newspaper piece discussing the fight- https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/comba...otential-title-clash-with-oleksandr-usyk?rm=a
I'd like to see this match up and both are good sportsmen. I think it will be competitive. In other words, most likely will go to the cards and a close decision wouldn't surprise me. Some are writing off Parker and some are going on the JJ bandwagon after he beat a poor mans AJ. Yes Parker has losses to AJ and Whyte. I can see Joyce beating one of AJ, or most likely Whyte. But he's never faced either in the ring. So let's not jump to conclusions.
Parker's speed is why he'll always be dangerous for anyone. But in this fight he'll struggle to land more than single shots, Joyce is a mover, his movement has always been underrated, if you just watch his movement in a fight he's rarely in one place for long and that's going to kill Parker's combination punching. Parker needs a stationary target for him to look his best. Parker's problem vs Joyce other than the movement will be the work rate Joyce sets, he could easily just be out worked and lose on points. He'll need to be in top shape and be far more active than he usually is and not end up fighting in spurts which he is prone to doing. I think Joyce will be more aggressive vs Parker, Parker doesn't have the power of Dubois and Joyce will take more risks. But while he doesn't have DDD's power he's far more elusive with his head movement. If Parker could God damn learn to throw a counter punch he'd be far more effective and dangerous as he can make guys miss, but he never makes them pay for doing so. I think the lack of counter punching and tendency to fight in spurts, plus Joyce's durability and work rate will see Joyce come out on top if they ever do fight. Parker will have his moments and be competitive but until he shows me any real improvements I can't favour him in this match up.
I agree,,,on paper Parker has all the tools needed to beat Joyce. It's just something nagging about Parker that doesn't give me confidence .
If the AJ and Whyte fights were inb NZ, Parker would still be undefeated. British corruption is a real thing, you have to nearly kill AJ to get a draw in the UK Parker wins 10 times out of 10 against Joyce outside of the UK. In the UK Joyce is a favourite
if parker at 29 loses to joe joyce Jab.. its time to retire because thats legit the only punch Joyce has... parker 8-4 9-3 joyce is so slow and parker has fast hands doesn' look like a good match on paper for joyce tbh.
The hated underrated Joyce dominates one fight he was supposed to lose with a jab, and everybody claims it's his only punch. Unfortunate. I bet on Joyce to beat Dubois and I'll bet on him to beat Parker if it comes to it.
