Greater isn't better. Frazier was 5'11 and 200 pounds, with a 72% KO rate against similarly sized men. Vitali Klitschko was 6'7 and 250 pounds, with an 87% KO rate against similarly sized men. Greatness as a concept isn't the same as H2H, and Vitali undoubtedly ranks very well head to head. In 30 years when fighters are 6'10 and 290 pounds, people will still be picking gold era heavyweights, even when there's a weight requirement of 102 kilos (224 pounds) because nobody under that weight has even a small chance of competing. Yes, some like Ali and Foreman absolutely could compete today because they aren't ridiculously small compared to modern heavyweights, but Frazier was 8 inches shorter than Vitali and 50 pounds lighter, he never fought anybody with Vitali's size and skill, the backfoot fighters he fought were three or four inches taller and twenty pounds heavier, nothing compared to what he would face in Vitali.

Yea, fantasy matchups could be fun but some posters take other people’s opinions way to seriously. I don’t see a point in name calling if what we’re discussing literally has nothing to do with anyone on here

Yes , it is very clear and obvious to the unbiased eye. . Vitali-stans just salty he was a basic 1-2 guy in the exact same mould as Joe Bugner.

But looking back on those fights its also clear that Bugner had more tools , better defence up top and better punching technique.

Yes, Vitali's immense size would pose problems for Frazier.

Vitali already has a loss to a "blown up super middeweight" in his own era.
And other of his best wins were against fat cruisers or blown-up light-heavies (Gomez, Adamek etc.).
So stats on how many men he stopped is irrelevant really.

Frazier never beat anyone quite as tall as Vitali, the tallest ones he beat were still three inches or so shorter, yes.
But Vitali never beat anyone anywhere near as good as Frazier.

At least you're impartial and are able to recognize this won't be a walk in the pak for either men instead of saying "Vitali wins, Frazier has no chance lolz" like many here.

The bottom line is Frazier just isn't going to be at the end of Vitali's punches. . He's too good to be kept at range from a guy who pokes punches from the waist up.
Its not difficult to envision Vitali being unable to hit Frazier as he constantly moves in with head and upper body movement.

Neither gua y gets the stoppage. Joe earns a points win for being more aggressive and landing the cleaner punches on the inside.

I agree Frazier wins, but I can't see Vitali going the distance. Frazier is going to force him to fight at a pace he's uncomfortable with, and sooner or later Vitali will crumble.

    Good call.

The sad thing is that several of Vitali's "world title" opponents were no better than a shot Renaldo Snipes.

Magoo is one of the most level headed posters on the site. If he's on the other side of the fence you'd have to at least consider the possibility that you're wrong, imho. As for me, yes, I'm a fan of the Klitschkos and I believe that with time it will become more obvious what outliers they were.

I would agree that this is the most likely scenario. Now of course the usual Klitschko lovers here disagree, but anyway.

It would be a weird fight a bit like a circus act due the huge height and weight disparity. Vitali is awkard and awful technically, he would miss a huge amount of punches on the elusive Frazier. Frazier would have some success on the inside, working the body there. Vitali can't fight on the inside and would clinch a lot and maybe lose a couple points in the process. Vitali still does know how to fight, controling the distance, landing occasionally from the outside with his jab and straight round. But overall, I see Joe getting the better over Vitalo from the mid rounds on and earning a UD. After the fight, Vitali would be exhausted from the fast pace he is not used to and the Frazier's vicious body attack. Neither fighter would be seriously hurt in this fight I guess.

Vitali would hate it in there with Frazier, the pressure Joe bring s would have his body in more pain than it's ever been. Imo.
