It's a shame that he's such a piece of garbage human being. He really was a special talent. I really liked watching him fight. But he wasted so much of it in jail and getting DQ'd stomping on downed fighters. It's really disgraceful when fighters have that level of power over ordinary people and just decide to abuse it through violence whenever they feel like it. You'd think with the amount of discipline it takes to reach that level that they'd acquire a level of inner peace and character, but that's sadly not always the case. But yeah, he's been done for a little while. He was beating Rico's ass in their second fight and then his a freak injury happens and he just quits. His body and heart aren't in it anymore.
Used to be a fan before the sucker punching, nightclub leg breaking etc. Great fighter who would’ve probably been a multiple K1 Grand Prix champ if he wasn’t such a scumbag. Can’t say he isn’t getting what he deserves now.
Yeah not that surprised been a minute since he was near his best and no idea of his finances but could see him try pick up few more paydays with similar results. Not the biggest Rico fan but him against Badr was 1st time i had been excited for big kickboxing fight but it ended up as a big dissapointment like so much of the scumbags career, with his peak wasted for various reasons
Skills are definitely still there to hang with everyone. His chin, fight IQ and heart were always liabilities though. But it seems the latter has been even worse the last 7-8 years. Waste of talent as you and others have said but again total scumbag so there's not any years shed here. Yeah the Rico fights generated a lot of interest but ultimately disappointed. Glory and kickboxing in general has withering away for a while and disappointing and indecisive conclusions of both fights certainly have not helped. Not much left for Rico... Rubber match with Jamal Ben Sadik? No point in fighting Adebuyi who he already dominated twice and currently trains with.
