Canelo is a good fighter, all respect to him and his hormone doctors. Boxing is a grift and so many good fighters have the odds against them. I don't blame intelligent boxing fans for disliking Canelo for suspect drug tests, short preparation times for opponents, hand picked home fights, Weight fluctuation to stop big fights and questionable judges. Despite all of that he is a good fighter.

 

Why are you mad?? What's your excuse now?? Smith old? Past prime??

 

I am still surprised that Smith beat Groves tbh.
For a while, I thought maybe he had suddenly improved, but then he fought Ryder.
And now this.

Excellent performance from Canelo.
Smith showed his limitations.
And I am certain that Smith, while in good shape(still moving well in the 12th), felt the lack of preparation at the mid point. Never got into second gear.

Looks like Smith was no better than Chavez jr Ive seen a heavy bag move faster than he did. Remember Oscar saying Canelo/Chavez was going to be for the best mexican fighter ever title LOL GGG couldnt stop him either lol

PED´s don´t give you skills.
It can help with recovery and weight management.

Plus not all PED´s are the same.

a decent fight. Expected a late TKo but smith was a little bigger than usual. Smith tired some new tricks like uppercut ,was testing the range but canelo’s defense range control is very very good , and a bit surprisingly light feet rides some shots very smoothly. smith’s uppercut&hooks&combinations was either out of range or missed/didn’t land clean. Smith has always been a one trick pony to be honest.doesn’t control the range very well as a huge SW , sucked in the last fight with ryder too. maybe it’s getting harder for his cruiser weight/heavyweight frame to stay at 168.
and smith still didn’t brings his jab back fast enough ,canelo was able to counter with his own jab, smith used alot of lateral movement but canelo’s timing is better able to cut off the ring and put a beating on smith ,from different range/angles,also was throwing much more right hands to the head&body than left hooks to the body clearly aware of smith’s counter left hook, also upper cut either throwing it very close in a position that smith wasn’t able to get him with the left hook or feint before throw it,smith wasn’t able to time with a clean counter left hook the whole fight.
and when smith was getting hit he just covers up not moving alot ,thus taking a beating ,but he’s a big lightheavyweight and has heart so was hurt but never showed was gonna go. Also canelo is hitting extremely hard now ,very thudding punches,that arm swollen big ,devastating power.
by the way, how can smith’s cruiserweight/heavyweight frame put on even more mass this fight and can still fight at 168 ,n canelo is like a tank in this fight.both been eating good apparently.. great perfomance and a tremendous beating by canelo ..
and I’ve never seen a much smaller guy making the much bigger guy’s hooks out of reach by leaning back. very good fighter canelo.truly special. but to be fair smith is really a world champion with domestic resume, and he’s having harder time shrinking down to 168.
