You need to be objective here.

GG didn’t get the opportunity to unify all of the belts in the same way that Canelo did.

Cotto would fight Canelo, but he wouldn’t fight GG.

Oscar wouldn’t let Canelo fight GG when he was his mandatory.

Most people had GG winning the first fight against Canelo.

Canelo is an outstanding fighter. But he shouldn’t be given credit for cleaning out the MW division in a way that GG didn’t. Because under different circumstances, GG could have done it earlier and more emphatically.

 

We know you hate GG, but stop being ridiculous.

Canelo and Oscar enjoyed beating Cotto to be labelled as the MW champ. But then when it was time to face GG, they fought Liam Smith and Amir Khan instead.

If GG had’ve handed his belt over and waited for someone to decline, you’d have jumped on him. So don’t give Oscar and Canelo a pass for their actions.

Ward was at SMW.

GG didn’t have a SMW belt in the SMW division, like how Canelo had a MW belt in the MW division.

 

Yeah, after Oscar had waited him out for as long as it was possible.

 

Canelo couldn't beat him until he was 40 years old.

 

Excellent video except when saying that Saunders won the WBA world title from Lee, as we al, know, he won the WBO title.

 

Well for me he should have two wins over Canelo.. but they stiffed him in the US like they do with all 'soviet bloc' fighters.. Canelo, Jacobs & Lemieux are probably his 3 top wins*.. Great fighter who's resume doesn't do his ability & impact on the sport justice unfortunately. Pirog, Cotto & Martinez fights would have helped greatly but that's by the by now..

Just saying I had the pleasure of meeting Len Harvey in Islington in the early 70s, a pub was called The Champion in honour of the man himself, was a very big turnout with lots of his contemporaries, and dozens of former champions and contenders, from all the weight divisions, what a day I had talking to the likes of Downes, Spinks, Charnley, Barton, Rowe, etc, when the throng had filtered out , I summoned up the courage to go over to the great man, what a delight he was, free with his time, and lots of memories of his very long and illustrious career, won't bore you with most of the chat, but when I asked the obvious, a rue smile creased his lips, Dundee he said, whilst rubbing his sides, he said that Vince had given him the worst body beating off his entire career in their first fight, and he had trouble sitting down for a week. plus he said Dundee was impervious to punishment, try as he might, his punches made little impression on this very tough fighter, aside from Dundee another who left a lasting memory was Marcel Thil, he said Thil had the strength of a heavyweight, was covered in body hair, that he would rub copious amount of oil on, so making him almost impossible to hold in the clinches, plus he was very difficult to hit cleanly, McAvoy hit him the hardest ( no surprise ) and tons of respect for John Henry Lewis, said he was well passed it when Mills caught up with him, bit felt that he could have won over Freddie were he to have been in his prime, there you go.
