Muhammad Ali 'The Greatest' is arguably the best fighter that ever lived, who dominated in the 60s & 70s - becoming the first 3-time world champion. From Liston to Frazier to Foreman - he fought & beat them all. But how would Ali fare in an arguably tougher era, where the heavyweights were bigger & stronger.
    How does Ali fare against:
    Tyson
    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Bowe
    Morrison
    Moorer
    Mercer
    Ruddock
    McCall
    Bruno
    Tua
    Golota
    Briggs
    Byrd
    W Klitschko

    Tyson chews his leg off
    Lewis out chesses him
Holy uses Ali's name for steroids
    Bowe out eats him
    Morrison out "hooks" him
Moorer shows up drunk at the weigh in
Mercer convinces him in a bribe in a clinch to throw the fight
Bruno says "he was on me like a Harbor Shark Arrry"
Tua loses his tune prior ot his title shot
Andrez arrests him speeding to the fight
Briggs exclaims "Lets go Champ" and Ali hits him at the press conference
    Byrd doesnt make weight
Kilitschko steps on his toe for a tko

Im bored... too much Xmas vacation... all of these Ali threads bore me even more

    How does Ali fare against:
Tyson: Mike doesn't make it 10 rounds. Overwhelmed.
Lewis: Lewis does well, 12 round UD for Ali though.
Holyfield: Holy is tough, but again 12 round UD for Ali.
Bowe: Bowe gets stopped in 8. Too many punches, plus Bowe can't land flush often enough.
Morrison: ha ha poor Tommy. Maybe 3 rounds.
    Moorer: MM down in 4.
Mercer: Mercer loses a lopsided 12 UD.
Ruddock: Ruddock rocks Ali but gets blitzed in 8.
    McCall: McCall loses UD 12.
    Bruno: Stopped in 8.
    Tua: Loses UD
    Golota: Done in 5
Briggs: He might make it 10
W Klitschko: 12 UD loss for Wlad, possible late-round stoppage...maybe.

Lewis is the only one with a chance.

Only 87-88 Tyson would have a legit chance with Ali. Certainly not 90s Tyson.

Ali was all wrong for Holy.

Ali would beat the crap outta Bowe, in all honesty.

Are we talking Ali at his absolute best? Because if he fought all these guys throughout a ten year span he would have likely lost a few times

Ali would have a problem removing his foot from Chris Byrd's ass.

Byrd's arguably the most overrated heavyweight.

Ali wins those fights. No question in terms of skills. Some would have a big size advantage which would give Ali problems. Best chance of beating Ali is Tyson.

He's definitely one of them, along with perhaps Tua and Sam Peter.

    Beats all except:
    Holyfield
    Lewis
    Bowe
    Wlad
I’d give prime Tyson a good chance at beating him but a 90s version probably loses a decision

    I don't see a 90s Tyson beating a 66-67 Ali. 87-88 Tyson can pull it off not 90s Tyson.

Lewis would be a nightmare for Ali. I don't see Bowe beating him but he would also be a very tough matchup. Wlad would be interesting but it seems fast hands seem to bother Wladimir Klitschko. If you had Vitali on there then that would probably be one of Ali's toughest fights.

Byrd was good but not that good ... I don't think anyone thought he was that good when he was actually fighting

Byrd's only advantage over bigger heavyweights was quickness and reflexes - he's outgunned in both those areas against Ali, and has no power to dent Ali in the least bit.

So, what does that leave? Being a southpaw? Ali didn't have any issue with that, as the Mildenberger fight showed.

Ali vs Byrd would be EXTREMELY one sided. In fact, I think Ali stops him. Mercy stoppage, as Byrd is just getting battered.

I agree for the most part, although I’m not sure if Bowe would beat him.

    Ali beats them all.

The 1990s heavyweights are all overrated.
