100% Back around the time Calzaghe was cashing out against Hopkins and Jones, there was quite a lot of folks saying that Calzaghe should fight Dawson instead, and whilst deffo not an easy night's work for Joe I would have took him to find a way to win UD / SD, simply because he would want it more and adapt - do whatever he needed to do.

Of course Ward stacked the deck against Dawson by making him drain down to 168, however I'd still have taken Ward at 175 for the same reasons as Calzaghe.

Which incidentally is why Ward vs Calzaghe is such a fascinating match up; they both would never admit defeat and would constantly adapt and tweak and push each other to the limit!

He didn't live the life. He didn't commit himself to the sport.

He got so far on his skills and athleticism, but once they faded and he tasted defeat he didn't have that burning hunger to succeed any more.

 Dumbass Dawson said he would take it at 168. He called out Ward at 168.
He then said that he had no issues with the weight.

And of course post fight he sang a way different tune.
