Should boxing implement hydration testing at after or at weigh ins? This would prevent fighters from dehydrating themselves too much before weigh ins and stop weight bullying after rehydrating. It is currently being implemented in One Championship (mma organization) with success.

I think this would be a step in the right direction for the sport and would result in better fights with lowered risk of serious injury!

Yes. There are guys that are way too big whose main advantage is dehydrating to fight smaller fighters, ahem Chavez Jr. I'm all for same day weigh-ins but this would be a good compromise.

We need to get rid of the day before weigh-in.

Believe it or not the group who would mainly be against is the promoters. They would take huge losses if a fight is canceled at or right before weigh ins because a fighter is not properly hydrated.

I tend to think 30 day weigh ins and next day weigh in limits could solve this

For safety it's a good thing

Canelo would have turned to sand if they tried to stick a needle in him to draw fluid after that Mayweather weigh in

Not completely cos then plenty of them might step in not enough re hydrated.

Clauses in fights contracts yeah, and catchweight I think should be eliminated and these : standartised.

There should definitely be a rehydration limit. Starving and dehydrating for every fight is asking for brain damage

I want to see the day fighters are stepping in the ring/cage at the contracted weight.
It sounds so wrong that 2 dudes whom are both over 160+ are fighting for the 147 belt.

i have no clue how this could be fixed.

I though the reason same day weigh ins were done away with was to protect the fighters. Fighters were suffering from kidney failure among other issues that go along with being dehydrated. The day before weigh in allows for better rehydration, but of course human nature kicked in a people found a way to take advantage of the situation. I think a weigh in 30 minutes before the fight. Fighters cannot weigh more than 5% of the division weight. If they fail, they lose 90% of the money, fighter cannot win a title. If you are the champ, you lose your belt.

No Canelo needs this as a part of his triple cheat package (judge bribes, paying off opposition to go easy, re/de hydration clauses)
