I think he possibly could. He had a wealth of experience by then and a solid set of whiskers. But would be hard tho at times, Bowe was heavy handed and could rip a nasty uppercut.,and a wicked right hand. It would turn into a survival fight imo where the younger man is desperate to ko Holmes as Tyson did. But in a moral victory, Larry Holmes sees the last round and despite losing a unanimous decision, he s still happy.
He's not winning but he could go the distance Bowes combinations and power would overwhelm a 42 year old Holmes but Holmes has a good chance of finishing the fight on his feet.
Its possible, but I kinda doubt it. Bowe doesn't blow him away in 4 like Mike did, but I think he probably stops him in 8-10. Holmes is way outgunned against Bowe in 92.
Definitely. I think Bowe is overrated and didn't really beat anyone other than Holyfield. Wouldn't be too surprised if he got the stoppage - but that should be expected as he's fighting an old fighter.
Sure. If he gets Bowe on one of the very few nights Bowe was really special, maybe he could stop Holmes, otherwise there's no real reason to think he could pull it off.
If he could have gotten into his head and kept drawing him into the ropes.... No, I guess not. Larry is my favorite fighter, but 92 Bowe was way better than Mercer ever was. Bowe would have had a harder time than Mike, but Larry would have been knocked down and stopped in 10 at the most. I hated writing that. Larry didn't like bigger guys with jabs. Never did.
I know what you mean, it's a dicey fight and Larry as to draw on a lot of reserves of strength. Bowe is going to be throwing bombs in there. I'm Givin Holmes a chance cos he only got kod once, but I do see your point.
Holmes could beat him. Larry might lull Bowe into a slow pace. A jab fest. Holmes still had a quicker sharper 1-2 than Riddick Bowe.
highly unlikely...Bowe was at his best in 92 and would never had shown Holmes the kind of respect that a guy like Holyfield showed to his elders
