Would be a huge fight in the MW division. Both have close victories over Derevyanchenko and are pretty much the top two MW fighters in the division. Canelo seems set on SMW so I think he's left the MW picture for now. Does Golovkin still have what it takes to beat the top echelon fighters or is Charlo too young and too prime for G to overcome?
I want this fight as well as charlo vs Canelo Although I do feel Charlo should fight Jacob’s while he waits for either one of these 2 to give him his shot. It will also be a nice litmus test & gain public interest with a common opponent.
Golovkin has just fought so I think he's ready for a big fight now. I'd like Jacobs or Derevyanchenko to face Andrade for the WBO belt.
Personally I think Golovkin does have enough. Even though he isn't the ferocious pressure fighter he was in his prime, he still has the best jab and footwork in the game and his power is still otherworldly when he gets the shots off. I thought Golovkin did enough to twice beat the P4P number 1 fighter today and although Sergiy really did push him close I thought he did enough there to.
I think GGG has enough left in the tank to take Charlo though it will be much closer than it would have been a few years ago.
Which version of G do you think has more success? Ferocious pressure fighter who can cut the ring off in two steps Measured pressure fighter with arguably the best jab in the game Just occured to me, I don't think we've ever just had a back and forth about boxing before lol, not without some needle thrown in there atleast haha
Never under estimate the H Town hero Charlo. He would work hard from the start if and when he got GGG. I think GGG still has too much skill set for Charlo at this point but in 18 months it Could be a different story
Charlo won’t take it, if he does he’d gain my respect because it’s lose lose. If he wins, he beat an old GGG. If he loses, he got beat by an old GGG. Charlo is not a warrior, he’s a businessman and this would be bad business.
If he wins, he unifies the titles and becomes the man of the division. Every thing at MW has to then go through him. He becomes the A side. That's the definition of good business. Plus the brothers have never shied away from a challenge, look at his bro at LMW.
Golovkin never mentions him. He doesn't want to fight him to unify the belts and he turned down a fight against him two years ago that if he won would have made him mandatory challenger to Canelo. Golovkin won't go near him because he's big , fast and hits very hard.
Charlo beats GGG in a competitive but one sided fight, too fast, too strong, too long and in his prime right now. G looks slower as father time is catching up to him. Still a solid scrap. The fight won't happen though and I bet G fights Munguia or Boo-Boo next. Easy fights to make for Matchroom.
