If Young had being capable of sending Foreman in to temp retirement, can that very same version beat Tyson in Tokyo?
Tyson wasn`t setting his shots up well, he was too predictable and wasn`t working the body, he looked very sluggish, I feel his punches wouldn`t have been sharp enough to land on young.
Tyson wasn`t using the peek a boo, a lot of average heavyweights fight like Tyson did v Douglas specifically when he tired in the mid rounds.
It's not close to as heavy and Douglas was throwing hard right hands that Young did not possess. Young also did not have the mindset.
Young didn't have the mindset to fight like Douglas is what i am saying. He also didn't have the offensive authority to hold Tyson off like Douglas did. Tyson would have plenty of free offensive opportunity which he didn't have against Douglas. He would find gaps for his shots and not be getting belted and bashed every round like he was. He took a **** of a lot of punishment against Douglas. He would not take this against Young which is quite easy to comprehend.
A lot of boxing experts picjed a hard hitting George Foreman to destroy Jimmy Young on March 17 1977, I was not one of them. Even though Young was badly kayoed by Earnie Shavers, he frustrated and defeated Ron Lyle on points. In round 8 against George, he got staggered by a right hand, he used Rope A Dope, Foreman tried in vain to pull him off the ropes. George was out of gas in round 12, Jimmy decked him. I collected my $10.00 the next day. Mike Tyson would have been tougher for Jimmy, because Tyson had better stamina than George did that night. I think that Mike would catch up to Jimmy to score a TKO 9.
