He seemed thuddingly heavy handed against Clev, I felt sorry for the welsh man. For me he really did put venom in to his shots in that fight noticeably
Gvozdyk has an even thinner resume than Beterbiev, but it was a good victory. However to claim its a better victory than any belonging to Floyd, Hoya or Canelo is absolute trolling.
I fear we'll never actually know if he is the real deal or not. For all we know he loses to Bivol in a unification and gets stopped and dismissed as shot by Canelo.
I've never seen either of those guys stop an elite technician with power in his prime. Beterbiev doesn't have the deepest resume, but he has capitalized to the fullest on his opportunities.
Doesn't matter what you've seen or what he's capitalised on. He's a massive unknown at world level. Could be just another title holder, could be one of the best ever, we're never gonna know.
Gvozdyk has done even less in the sport than Beterbiev. Take their posters off your bedroom ceiling and be objective it's not that hard
I think I'd pick an absolute prime version of Kovalev over Beterbiev. His ability to create space and long jab would be problematic for Beterbiev. Of course, a man as physical as Artur also always has a chance.
Radivoje ''Hot Rod'' Kalajdzic should've been unbeaten and had a win over Marcus Browne when he fought Beterbiev because he was robbed blind in that fight by not only the ref but by the judges too. That's the same Marcus Browne who beat Badou Jack and who many were hyping as the future of the division and to ''expose'' Beterbiev and co. Hot Rod>>>Browne. And Hot Rod, like Gvozdyk, Callum Johnson, Cloud, and Prieto is a big puncher and at the time had as many first round finishes (13) as Beterbiev had fights. Even though the ref allowed Browne to octopus hug Hot Rod to death all night he still managed to drop him once, hurt him badly at least one other time, and Browne hit the canvas twice in the later rounds that could've easily been scored KDs, especially when you consider that the corrupt ref had called this ''KD'' in Browne's favour in round one. Not only did the ref manage to see a punch that never landed he managed to miss one that clearly did land, on a downed opponent This content is protected Hot Rod would've had a KO win over Browne going into the Beterbiev fight had the ref not been in the bag This content is protected
....Kovalev wanted the fight in Moscow. They also lowballed Beterbiev. You think a Chechen Muslim would get a fair shake in front of a pro Kovalev Russian crowd?
