    Pretty much a one trick pony. Wrecking ball left hook.

    Average speed wnd defense

    Good chin

    Best win was over Roger Mayweather when Roger appeared mentally scarred from the Rocky Lockridge blowout loss and ran from Tony for 10 rounds. Roger landed little and Tony basically nothing but at least he tried.

    Dropped Howard Davis twice but was outboxed otherwise

    Most exciting fight was probably the tko loss to a prime Robin Blake. It was a war.

    Tony was a solid top 10 at 135 but never a real title threat

    Base level but not overly unfair assessment.

    From memory i do think he did better against Howard Davis than you remember. It wasn't a case of winning two rounds and getting outboxed the other eight. Davis himself blasted the 8-2 card and said he felt it was more like a 6-4 fight which says a heckuva lot.

    How do you think he would have went against Mancini? Left hook and a chin not enough to make it competitive? Ray gets both underrated and overrated at times. He gets loads of mileage out of the Arguello loss and post fight comments but he also practically shut out Ramirez which is so hard to picture and must have been a fine effort. It's quite thin otherwise tho.

    I remember Frankie Balthazar, Jr. fighting aBazooka Limon.

    A Mancini fight would have been something; two guys willing to take in order to give. One guy trusted in his power, the other in his heart and the number of punches he was ready to throw.
    Each could hurt the other. Logically thinking, I believe that Mancini would ultimately take it better, land more and win the fight in about 9 rounds. But they are both there to hit and Baltazar could certainly turn the fight with a left hook or two.

    It's a great match isn't it. You have to favor Mancini as he is a lot more proven but as you say he could be hit and Baltazar has that immense power so you couldn't totally count him out. I'd pay for a seat at this one.
