Time for the titles to be awarded to Liverpool FC and Stevie G's Glasgow Rangers - no point in waiting as the cream has risen to the top.

If Rangers win on the weekend the work will commence behind the scenes to get the league halted. Precedent's been set anyway after last season's tainted title.

A two-week break in football would achieve nothing. It would have to be 4+ weeks to have any impact and anyway it's pointless really because the players get tested and if clubs are really sticking to guidelines the risk of transmission is low. When you see clubs in England like Man City and Fulham and others in Scotland like St Mirren and Kilmarnock getting decimated by coronavirus transmission it's quite obvious that the players have not been social distancing in training.

Also with lockdowns sport is pretty much one of the few forms of entertainment available to the public. Shutting down football would be an awful move at this stage.

If you want people to stay in.

Seems madness to halt sport. Surely something on the box makes it more likely people will obey the rules?

Heard the Celtic Football Association up there, ruining the game for years, have come up with a new formula for deciding the league winners for 2020/21 should the football be halted again.

Rangers Total Points divided by 2 and Celtic Total Points multiplied by 2 - in the unlikely event that this calculation results in equal points then they have decided the title will be awarded to the club with club colours closest to the colour of grass.

If that does not work then I hear they are going to give the final vote to Rod Stewart.

Seems madness that they allow the sale of alcohol and don't expect people to get together and party.

The entire Covid pandemic has been and continues to be mismanaged all over the UK since day 1.

The premier league have now said a two week circuit break won’t happen. (I think their hand is forced by the upcoming Euros).
You also need to remember the government pleaded with them during the last lockdown to get up and running again and put matches on free to air to cheer up the public. So I think “elite sport” will continue to get government green lights.

Any promoter who’s putting on shows during this climate - Hennessy, Hearn, Warren etc need a pat on the back. It’s tough, tough conditions. No crowds, fighters dropping out with COVID at any minute, constant rule/tier changes and many other things that can affect it. So fair play to them all so far and good luck to them on the future endeavours.

This govt change their minds at the drop of a hat - the priority now should be a total lockdown in January and get people vaccinated.

Can just hear Del Boy if there was no vaccination - 'this time next year Rodders we could be in Tier 9'

I wonder what people are going to say come spring when the vaccine has been rolled out and things still don't go back to normal? Will they still take it?

Yeah trying to half save lives and half the economy at the same time does not work. Needs to go heavy on one or the other

They make loads of money on alcohol. It suits them. You do t expect them to change what they’ve been doing since March do you? It’s been all about what suits them since day 1. If it hadn’t we wouldn’t be living anywhere near like we are now.

This was obvious in March when they ignored other countries and didn’t shut borders and made people go to work for weeks longer than they should have. The economy has been first thought over lives and you can see this in their decision making. I don’t have any respect for Torys anyway but any respect for their authority I had evaporated early in the pandemic. Absolute clowns think people can’t see it.

Half arsed as you say. Secondary schools are off. Primary schools can go in so you can get to work in your cramped conditions and aren’t off looking after them. Make sure you don’t visit your mum or anything else though or you’ll be criminalised because the NHS is under extreme pressure and people are dying. Hypocrisy of the highest level.

As you say it has to be one or the other.
