There`s a 6`7 fighter in the mddleweight division right now and he`s far too skinny to beat any top fighters, so what is the maximum height a middleweight can be and still be effective enough to win a world title at that weight?

I think reach is more important than height.

6'2 or over because it gets to a point where you're too long and when you're being forced onto the ropes you're arms are all over the place and when you are that tall at that weight you can't force them back in the clinches because you can't get your shoulder into it and you can't push with your hands because your arms have to go through a very long range of motion and it's hard to push someone when your arms are so long and you are right up close to them, the shorter fighter doesn't have to extend his arms much, he can do do a small push and get his punches off also you can't be very physically strong when you're that tall and weigh that much so can't force them to go back and they force you to be ungainly and your arms are all over the place and you can't keep your technique and shape and feet because of the awkwardness

What I was saying is that 6`7 is too tall for 160, what is the tallest a middleweight can be and still be a good fighter at that weight? What the maximum height for a decent middle?

6 foot or 6-1 and you have a big advantage at middle weight a la Hopkins or Monzon.. Maybe 6’2 is the Max cause Hearns had some middleweight success

Kingley Ikeke was what....6'4"? He had some level of success, but I think he was to thin to stay there. Can't think of the guy who's pretty damn tall, fighting at either MW or SprMW. I believe he's Spanish?

If you plough through the current universal top 10 you will find the height range is 5 foot 9.5 to 6 foot 0.5.

Those heights are the sweet spot.

I am confident in saying anything of 6 foot 3 and above is freakish at the weight and doomed for failure.

Gerry Cooney faught at middle weight in the amateurs and as far as I'm aware he did fairly well (although 6,6 is way way to tall for middle weight in my opinion)

Roy Jones had a big advantage at 160 being 5`11 he was usually taller than his opponent but wasn`t thin at 160 either meaning he had the power of a bigger fighter too.
