Actually @cornwall22 besides the league here. There is also another competition called the WBK which matches players against one and another and requires exact picks. @nellybc can give you the full details.
It doesn't, unless you play for the WBK title, which is like a video game side challenge, it's not a must. But the newbies can observe and pick up the nuances, it's easy to play as well. But I'll let the ones more involved in that give you the details. Regardless, it has NOTHING to do with your overall record, and you won't lose anything if you don't participate.

That's one of the banes of my existence with this league, and why I've never won it, because I'm a stubborn ass and always usually go with the person I think will win, and they usually do, sadly, they and I... never get credit for it. I even had Gabe Rosado over Jacobs.
