Mick has done a fantastic job since coming back from the brink of bankruptcy and has a solid stable of young stars. This will be his third major bull run so I have no doubt we will see him at the pinnacle of boxing yet again. What you see is what you get with Hennesey, no hidden agenda or manipulating people through the media, just boxing. Under appreciated is Mick.

Seems to be a really good guy and the Ch5 fights in 2020 have been great. The more boxing on terrestrial tv the better for the sport

I think as a matchmaker he is much better than Warren and Hearn.

Was a good article on him in boxing news a week or so ago, can’t help but hope he gets a bit of luck. Enjoy the boxing on 5 when it’s on

Saw an interview with Big Mick a while ago and I remember him talking about how Fury leaving him really hurt didn't really go into detail about it but I wonder if they are still on good terms?
The thing with boxing is its an ugly sour sport what breeds animosity and hatred between people, and it seems sad with how close Tyson and Mick were.
I just presumed when Tyson beat Wlad. Mick just couldn't come up with the money to pay him Millions to fight Sefer and Francesco.
So I think it sort of forced Fury to go to Warren as no way would he go to Hearn to play second fiddle to big dosser Femi.
Mick is a top promoter though with the budget he has, did his conkers on Hughie though but had Hughie won that fight Mick could have been the top promoter in the country.
I for one wish Mick well which is more than I can say about Hearn and Warren.

After all the hate Hearn and Warren get it's heartwarming to see the brits supporting the big guy.

You nailed it....add the impressive set too.

But ultimately 1 of the things killing boxing is the stupid elongated ring walks and 20 minutes of old man buffer and his drugged up grinning top rank nieces grinning like morons while the 2 fighters are introduced.......channel 5 and ufc...no nonsense...straight to it

Six a year is the minimum which isn’t too bad.

What do you mean minimum? Genuine question, not being funny. I agree, it’s not too bad but it would be great for a couple of more free shows for the people who can’t afford Sky etc.

Spot on my good man....i hate that shittty backwater scummy lowlife anthem....wasnt it adam smith who started all that....oh how this former sport of kings...the sport of Ali,Leonard and Tyson has fallen due to these things....that little ccuunt adam smith with his small town bleating about " our world champions"....frank warren is not without blame that little cupboard he had the boxnation set and another lowlife bunce making the sport seem like a minor sport only popular in your local bookies.

Theres never been anything wrong with boxers...its the promoters ,the governing bodies, and tv networks who have let the sport down with its presentation or lack thereof.....the sport used to have journalists and writers like norman mailer, harry carpenter, joyce carol oates....now we have that idiot gareth Davies who really should be covering the theatre...he's neither a boxing man nor a journalist

He has to produce six shows a year for a set rights fee and then Channel 5 can commission more if they feel the fights warrant the same fee. Channel 5 seem to be quite happy with the ratings and fights as it stands.

Mick has a decent stable of young fighters especially McKenna- the punditry is certainly on a level with BT/Sky now they’ve somehow managed to get Groves to be the analyst on every show.

If Mick wants another cheap low budget but decent fighter with potential he should go for Marc Leach

Very decent promoter! Comes across a nice guy. Hopefully something comes for him through Chamberlain. Technically sound boxer.

Also, what's the deal with Mick's son? Is he any good?
