What are his other options? He needs a viable opponent as he's running out of options. What quality fighter can he get to fight him? Also, Top Rank needs to be willing to pay these fighters their worth & not lowball them.
Mikey Garcia has voiced his interest in the fight. Why not if he can’t get Porter. Mikey seems more acclimated to the weight too.
If Porter won't accept the fight there's plenty other WW contenders out there Bud can offer a shot to. He can attempt unifying with Spence or Pacquiao. He can defend vs Thurman, Ugas, D Garcia, M Garcia. I'm sure he can tempt Abdukakhorov if all else fails. Porter needs this fight, Crawford doesn't. Crawford is the A side, the belt holder, the P4P star.
The only welterweight Top Rank has is Giovani Santillan. Everyone else is a prospect at this point. Manny, Mikey and Porter seem the most likely big candidates. But, I have a feeling that Top Rank might be parting ways with Bud. Maybe they will have 1 more fight, in which case I doubt it will be a meaningful one.
