Agreed, I've always said Hagler didn't give HIMSELF the best opportunity to win. And his corner and trainers also failed.
I'm not taking anything from Leonard, he fought the way he should've to get the win.

His ego, which cost him the fight in the first place.

Hagler switched in almost every fight ....he switched to righty against Thomas Hearns and John Mugabi .....that’s how he fought ....that’s who he was

Why Didn’t Muhammad Ali use a left hook to body against Ken Norton....he’s a sucker for it . ...because that’s not Muhammad Ali

I don't know how you could call hagler of all people "not very bright in the ring"

He was an idiot, also his stance was wrong, he stood in a pretty bladed stance, which was a very good thing, but for whatever reason he purposefully kept his head exactly in the center, which not only made him more open to getting hit than if he had naturally let his head lean off the center, but putting his head in the center while standing side-on put stress on his neck which rendered him unable to properly duck or slip punches, which made him get hit too much (you can see this in every single fight of his)

And he still is an idiot, crying about getting “robbed” against a welterweight and crying about today’s fighters lacking certain things when he himself had so many flaws such as not even having a proper stance and he himself hunted welterweights and f*cking lightweights his entire career, never once looking to ANYONE at 175

No just no. He was robbed against Leonard he haze the right to "cry" about it since it was such a bad decision. The only lightweight he faught to my knowledge was Duran (who was a welterweight by that point) and it would be dumb for hagler who was a small career middle weight To go looking far a fight at 175.

I’m just saying, he kept crying about being ducked but conveniently always looked downwards instead of upwards. It backfired anyway LMAO

I wrote one could make THE CASE of his "not being very bright in the ring" based on the fact he did not adapt well mid fight in the Leonard fight. I did not call him not very bright in the ring.

He didn't "look downward". He cleared out the middleweight division and when the fights against the big money smaller guys were available, he fought them. I don't remember his ducking any middleweight. Do you?

Which is why he waited for Hagler to age.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with fighting smaller guys for money once you’ve cleaned out your own division. But he cries to this day about the WW Leonard catching him too late and robbing him, which is stupid
