    Shite!

For some reason that’s not loading. So here’s the tweet.

The BBBofC have once again suspended all boxing in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result of the recent rise in cases, they won’t allow any fights in January. Josh Kelly vs David Avanesyan must be rescheduled again.

Football still all clear. 22 men + running round a pitch in contact with each other. But two men in a ring, no? Where’s the logic.

    Seems mental.

Wonder if this has been on the cards for a while as both Frank and Eddie had said they would announce stuff at the end of 2020

Not a shock. Hospitals are stopping usual services due to numbers of covid increasing. Imagine the outrage of having them to have to work boxing events or if a boxer needs to go into hospital.

Thats fair enough. No problems at all with it being suspended if it’s in the interest of public health and to relieve stress on the NHS, however how can football and other sports still go ahead? Thousands of players in contact each week up and down the country.

Frustrating but given the current situation with the pandemic/lack of hospital space it is understandable and correct. Imagine that Matchroom will probably have a plan to host their big fights in mainland Europe/US for the foreseeable so the big names don’t miss out

My sister works at a major London hospital and said it's mental currently. Dreading going to work. So this isn't a shock. But it's odd how they pick and choose what industries to close.
That Kelly fight is cursed. Going to be two years at least since it was supposed to happen when it eventually does.

One thing I do think, if we are going to be lockdown, the more live sport on tele the more likely people will obey the rules imho.

A few reasons I can think of mate. Football is outside, so less likely for covid to be transmitted, the increase of emergency hospital treatment in boxing, ambulances, doctors that need to be on stand by incase of an emergency. Plus money, football bigger business plus the top clubs can absorb costs better than bbbofc.

No problem with everybody suspending lives until the vaccination programme rolled out but all corners of the UK being mismanaged from day one.

The famous 4 words get reeled out every time there is a fook up in the Public Sector 'lessons will be learned' yet they don't. They should take a fooking look at New Zealand to see how they have managed this crisis and people have been leading normal lives for months now.

A full lockdown needed in the UK for 2-3 months now due to this gross mismanagement including schools.
