It's not his chin that's an issue, it's his head, or rather, his lack of head movement. He always has a punchers chance, but his opponents will always have a chance to time his punches and counterpunch to his immobile head. Even his corner was screaming out (in Spanish) to move his head.
Useless topic. Opener never had any boxing gloves on i assume. That was a nice shot from Campbell and Garcia didn't see it coming + was off balance for a second. Not even hurt in the slightest there. I think the opener has a GLASS BRAIN!
He got up, dusted himself off and beat a very good opponent in his biggest, toughest fight. You are just too used to seeing guys like Tank fight smaller guys and old guys, no hopers. It’s easy to look good against clearly inferior opposition. When guys step up in opposition, these things happen. They lose rounds, get hit, get dropped, have to adjust to win big fights. This type of adversity makes champions and exposes frauds. Ryan showed his toughness and skill. Respect to him for not just milking his popularity and fight smaller, older guys to pad his record like Tank Davis. The great Joe Lewis was knocked down a lot but he always got up and usually won the fight (at least until he got old). Many of today’s fighters can hide a glass jaw by cherry picking opponents who have no chance of winning. Don’t confuse this for a solid jaw.
He didn’t see it cause Luke set him up beautifully throwing to the body then changed it up to hook to the head. Garcia ultimately set him back up with the converse throwing up top then changed to a hook to the body. Brilliant stuff by both.
I don’t think his chin is glass per se, but I’m not sure if he’d be getting up if it was Davis landing that left cross.
Hard to tell at this point if it's definitively glass, but Garcia's chin should certainly be labeled suspect!
Garcia passed the test. He got up and won. Yes, he'd be vulnerable against Loma, Lopez, Davis, maybe others. But he'd be dangerous to them too. At this point, I'd rate him just below those guys.
Garcia is only 22 for God sake has only improvement ahead of him...My only worry is his lack of foot movement and head Movement hopefully he corrects this issue.!!!
22 Years old with 21 Fights and first time he has touched the Canvas....Big call to call His Chin suspect in my Opinion.!!!
My two cents, was a long shot not a short one I watched in slow motion he was hurt do you imaging the shot from Teo that dropped Commey the kid have a pending grade on his chin.
