So I guess the WBC has or will order this fight to happen next. Both guys are with DAZN it should be an easy fight to make. How does this fight go in your opinion?

Good. Make it. Garcia is willing to fight anyone. Make the matches and give the fans something to look forward to.

IIRC, they fought six times in the amateurs and they're 3-3

Here's what Haney himself had to say about their series of fights with each other

"Every fight was competitive," Haney said of the amateur meetings with Garcia. "None of the fights were easy. Ryan's always been good, so that's why I'm not surprised at the noise he's making. The people that ask me about him, I always say that he's good. I've always said that, because I know his skillset, his crazy amateur experience, a crazy amount of national titles. I knew one day he would be big."

Now I'm not saying Haney can't fiddle his way to a soporific decision win over Garcia, but if Garcia can hit hard enough to stop Campbell and send Fonseca into the shadow realm in a round with a solitary devastating left hook from hell, the same Fonseca who it took Twink 7 rounds to get out of there and even then he could only finish him with a foul, then what's going to happen when Garcia detonates on Haney's mandible section with little gloves and no headgear on?

And don't tell me he won't be able to because not only is he super fast but, as per Haney himself, all their amateur fights were very competitive.

Let's keep it 100% 100. Garcia would've sparked that 39 y/o Gamboa out cold who Haney couldn't even hurt, let alone floor and I'm telling you Garcia be hitting way harder these days than he was in the amateurs whereas Haney still be rocking that frail old lady power.

People sleeping on my boy Kingry because he looks like a matinee idol and Haney looks like, in his own words: ''Barney the Dinosaur'' but I telling you that boy ain't no joke.

    I think pimp is right.
I still like to see it since the kid is willing.

Haney has 1” reach advantage & he will use it.
I don’t see Haney losing his cool to engage in a fire fight either.

that would be Garcia’s only real shot to clip him. He would have a better chance to Catch & clip tank coming in ... all be it Tank has a real chance of decapitating da kid in the process.

in reality I think Oscar swerves this & matches him up with a 40 year old Gamboa. On the same card as haney’s next fight to properly “marinate” the fight.

& to be honest it’s probably the right move.

If it’s alright for Tank & Haney to beat up on the gimpy midget ... $o why not Garcia?

Stop passing him around. Leave poor Gamboa alone.

Oscar isn't known for protecting his fighters. Not sure what gives you that idea??

He just matched Ryan with a top legit LW. He matched Canelo with Trout, Mayweather and Lara. He matched JoJo with GRJ. Oscar has always matched his fighters fair and harder than most promoters.

Oscar the fighter fought almost everybody. (AKA took chances)

    Oscar the promoter swerved Canelo
From GGG as long as he could.

He was definitely known for discouraging canelo from taking the Lara fight & Trout fight .
sure he made the fights (reluctantly)
I believe an unhappy canelo forced his hand if I remember correctly.

good thing Nelo has tainted brass meatballs.

There is a reason the 2 Parted ways.

As far as Luke Campbell fight it was a step up fight. But Garcia was still favored to win. Same for Canelo vs Lara & trout, risky but he was favored.

GGG fight at the time of the swerving, Canelo was not favored to win.

The Mayweather fight is the only fight he made where canelo was a significant underdog .

But they knew that if that fight wasn’t made at the time with the catch weight concession. That mega flight would have flapped it wings off to the sunset & he would have missed out on that mega payday & ensuing coke bender that landed him in rehab on fight night!

    i can’t really blame Oscar
It’s just smart promoting he learned it from Arum.

Can you name one promoter who hasn’t meddled in their fighters careers to try & minimize the risks?

All this being said I hope the fight is made. I’d love to watch it ... just ain’t holding my breath.

I get that and I'm fully aware of the shameless ducking of GGG by his golden hen but this is Devin Haney we're talking about here not some elite level killer. Dude hasn't ever fought anyone with a pulse, let alone beaten anyone and in his only 'step up' fight against an opponent who once had a pulse (albeit it had stopped beating not long after the last ice age) he scored a resounding fail. He was supposed to dazzle against the ghost of that shot to smithereens 39 y/o chinny Cuban leprechaun and blast him out in style but he couldn't even wobble him despite being much naturally bigger than him. If you can't punch hard enough to wobble Gamboa whose ass is as familiar with the canvas as his feet are you gonna have problems keeping the murderous punching Kingry off you and that boy's hands be on fast forward x 10.

i hope the fight is made,
Like I’ve said I really want to see it.

king Ry is the better fighter, but hanie at this moment is the better boxer.

Haney will not engage in the pocket & open up to take chances against King Ry.

He will be on his bike using his reach & those superb boxing skills.

you right to bring up Gamboa
& again right that Haney should have wiped the floor with Gamboa & left a black bean Cuban doo-doo stain on the canvas.

I believe they will fight eventually.
But something is telling me Oscar would prefer to feel warmer & fuzzier about the situation.

Got the feeling he gonna marinate it.
Especially now with King Ry the last golden chic-fila ( I know he has Virgil Ortiz but let’s be honest he don’t have that casual crossover star power)

let’s all hope I’m wrong & we get to see it.

None of the top guys want anything to do with haney right now. Tough style to face and everybody thinks haney is boring. Haney outboxes teo, tank, or ryan.

Am I remembering right that the judges gaves 2-3 rounds to Gamboa vs Haney?

Now imagine what they give to Garcia.

    Be fun to watch though.
