Pernell Sweet Pea Whittaker vs Marlon Starling, at 147 lbs, Both at their peaks. Can Sweet Pea easily outbox Marlon in 15 rounds? Or would Starling score a knockout?

If Starling has any chance at all...it will be on the inside

I have to give Whitaker the edge to take a decision. I loved Marlon starling and feel he was underrated but Pernell is simply In a much higher class even if welterweight wasn’t his best division

Whitaker decision. Marlon was not usually as effective against defensive slicksters. During his prime he was outpointed by Pedro Velila a southpaw poor man's version of Whitaker.

If it is peak vs peak; Sweet Pea is giving away 12lbs...

A best 147lbs Whitaker wins a very boring fairly one sided decision.

Whitaker by clear decision. Despite Marlon being a fantastic welter, he'd be up against it all here.

I think Pernell would out box him. The handspeed would make Starling look like a plodder and Pernell would win a UD.Not too exciting.. Both guys would look unmarked after the fight.

Starling SD. Can't see Pernell winning this one.

This. Sweet Pea’s best weight is 135. I could see him coming in at 141 or so and taking a close decision in a bit of a yawner because Moochie isn’t going to use his size advantage in a way that would make a difference.

Not to sure about this. You can't point out Starlings loss to Villea as he was known to sleep walk at times and he latter avenged thst loss.
We are talking about the two of them facing one another st thier very best.
Starling was pretty strong on the inside. Brown and Aquino couldn't do anything with him on the inside and they both were pretty strong.
Starling didn't hit hard bit he had fast hands.
Think Pea is faster but Starling stronger.
Pea Outboxed Buddy who was very talented but in the first fight Buddy hurt his shoulder and that affected him alot.
I would say Pea could outbox Starling using his movement.

Speed wins everytime usually. I think Pernell wins a Ud, but rather close.
