How on earth did you manage to dig up an 8 year old thread?

20 middleweight title defenses (18) by KO lines up quite well with the heavyweights testimony, and numerous other testimony's. This kind of stuff just make Canelo fans squirm. Canelo can join the ranks of 4 division champs like Adrian Broner, and Golovkin will continue to hold the middleweight title defense record with Hopkins, only with a unprecedented amount of KO'S.

Last 6 fighters he fought, he has 3 knockouts (of those 3 two are non descript opponents and 1 a career JMW who had never even fought at MW)..............So basically like I said, he couldn't stop the most quality opponents that he had, which is a direct correlation to his competition level rising..................Not sure what you were trying to prove here.

I'd believe it. I weight about 170. I'm sure I hit harder than some guys who are 220+. I'm also sure that there are 130 pounders who hit harder than I do. Weight is generally a factor, but it doesn't tell all. It's especially less relevant when you have an outlier like GGG.

No doubt he’s a legit power puncher. These days he’s slowed down a lot and is going to have trouble landing those big shots against smart younger guys. Still, GGG has a better shot against Canelo than anyone else at 160. Assuming the fight ever takes place. Who knows if Canelo can even make 160 without any pharmaceutical assistance or Mexican steaks (same thing).

Golovkin does NOT hit harder than Povetkin. That's ridiculous.

No way GGG hits harder than Povetkin. That's ludicrous. You telling me Povetkin couldn't KO Jacobs or Canelo or SD. Funny stuff.

Yeah I don't believe it either. What he maybe could have done was hit faster and more accurately than Povetkin. The punches you don't see can hurt more than the bigger shots that you are prepared for.

I still wouldn't buy that, though. You can give Golovkin a free shot to load up on and he still wouldn't be able to lift and KO Whyte w/ an uppercut.

That's a good example to pick because I don't think Whyte saw that shot coming, kind of underlining my point.

The angles that GGG uses in some of his power shots - especially towards the ribs and the liver - would no doubt give much bigger guys problems and slow them down.
