Nothing about his personality seemed authentic there. He was using a persona popular on social media that you see far too often. My son's mother is in her twenties and talks like this unfortunately.
It would be better if he was just himself. I'm sure I was an idiot like this 10 years ago too. He probably sounds a certain way in his head, and has no idea how much of a knob he sounds like in real life. Regardless, he's young and just doing what all the people his age are unfortunately doing.
