Jeff Horn vs. James Kirkland

Kirkland at one time had a great chin but the countless wars he had in the gym didn't do him any favors coupled with a brutal training regime.

I was referring to now and his career after the second Tarver fight

Years ago Doug Dewitt was a leading middleweight contender.
He had an iron chin. I mean you could beat him with a bat and he probably wouldn't move.
He took Hearns righthand FLUSH numerous times during their bout and didn't flinch.
Don Lee who was also a tremendous puncher couldn't hurt Doug during their fight either.
Right after the Hears fight Doug fights a boxer who is like 19-8.
Suppose to be an easy tune up fight to get Doug back on track.
During the fight which was on ESPN the announcers are commenting on Dougs iron chin and.......boom the opponent drops Doug with one punch. And Doug gets stopped.
See the chin is like a car. Drive a car enough without maintaining it the car will break down at some point.
But the chin can't be maintained like a car so take one too many shots eventually you won't have that ability to take shots like you once did.
