Did you see the right hands Lewis was throwing v Frank? Steward used those wide sloppy rights as the blueprint on how to beat Lewis when he trained McCall before his bout v Lewis, Steward straightened Lewis`s right hand and he started to throw far more 1-2`s than he did v Frank, neither man threw many 1-2`s in that bout, they mainly threw one punch at a time.
Ah come on Pity. The best Frank could do, his "Masterclass", ended with him being helped / dragged back to his corner. I've nothing against Frank and British Boxing owes him a stack for sure. He got Boxing back in the back page headlines and, later, the front too but he really was at his best icing the likes of Bill Sharkey. Maybe if he'd been managed and matched harder, he could have got Witherspoon early, before Tim settled in and started launching his right over that metronomic jab. Maybe he would have let the right go when he nailed Tyson with that left hook. Every actual fight Frank was in, other than the many public executions, he lost. Happy New Year pal.
Yeah fair enough. I was being a bit tongue in cheek about a Bruno Masterclass. I just think his technical skills are underrated (e.g his works class jab) and while he did lose most of the big ones he still was world champ and did give both Tyson (1) and Lewis alot of trouble (esp Lewis). I don't think Joshua would have done much better other than beating Smith and maybe Witherspoon (that would have been close) Happy New Year UK to you .
Frank was more robotic than the 41 year old Wlad and didn`t have a better win on his own resume either, Wlad looked far better v AJ than McCall did v Bruno.
Favour joshua. Both dodgy chins in terms of the world stage. The big difference between them imo is when joshuas hurt...he physically starts to shut down. Whereas Bruno both mentally and physically shut down. Joshua appears to have his faculties intact whereas bruno,s brain shut down along with his physical attributes. Joshua knew exactly where he was when klitchko was putting it on him...pretty sure he was saying...your in trouble when i recover. Whereas bruno didnt know where he even was when tyson stuck it on him. I think bruno would maybe get something off on joshua...but more chance of seeing it out than bruno had if the shoe was on the other foot. Both big punchers tbf.
