Would Rigo always get outclassed at the ATG level?

Juan never fought at 122, Rafael did though. Come on man, Barrera had trouble with Junior Jones. Rigondeaux would have gotten into that arse, and he would have boxed Circles around Morales. It wouldn't have mattered if Morales made him wear the pillow like Winning Brand gloves either.

Well there is a big difference between the version of Barrera that fought Jones and the version that fought Morales years later. One of them is a 22 year old green fighter with no amateur experience. The other is a 26 year old refined boxer, puncher, brawler.

Rigo has never fought anybody as good as Barrera and now you have brought up Morales (him too) except when he fought Lomachenko. And we all saw how that turned out. Rigo doesn't have the length, balance or workrate to keep up with Morales or Barrera. And Pac, well Pac would just walk through him.

Also Morales says that he would dominate Rigo. He said Rigo has a lot of technique, but likes going backwards and doesn't take risks. And because of that he would just be all over him.

    ??

How do you not realize the basics of boxing??? Rigo's fighting style, its slow pace and methodical precision is fundamentally predicated on his power. His overwhelming power keeps his opponents at bay and from rushing in. With a guy two weights up, his power isn't what it was thus Loma could basically ignore Rigo's power. This allowed Loma rush in at will, dance around and pepper Rigo with weak shots essentially tying Rigo up. This is exactly what you do to a defensive fighter to basically freeze them.

This is the same **** McGregor did with Fluid, tie him up with pitty patter shots until an opening appeared. When McGregor tired after finding no openings, that's when his stamina gave out and Fluid finished him in fashion. Duh.

The only person doing the tying up was Rigo. That's why he was deducted a point.

Everything you post about their fight is straight projectile vomit. He never hurt his hand. And in the footwork department he was made to look paraplegic. He got absolutely clowned and the clowning kept progressively getting worse until he kicked it in. His quitting essentially said: "bit off way more than i could chew, he is badly outgunning me everywhere with everything, i have zero chance at winning or staying conscious, ****ing all set bro you got this." You cant possibly draw any other conclusion from that fight/sex crime if youre being objective. Youre literally revolutionizing looking like an idiot. For your own sake, stop.

Rigo got beat by Lomachenko and went up in weight a lot.. I think he still is a great fighter.. Dude was an Olympian and was unbeaten till then.. only thing he did wrong was quitting on stool but whatever.. No one knows what was going through his head at the time.. He was in there with someone much better I honestly gave Rigo a chance I was actually rooting for him and I though he was going to do better but I think he was up there with the best and could still hang with the best. Psycholigically though.. This mustve killed him

Rigo looked lost and outclassed. It was honestly worse than Barrera Hamed as far as the clownage. And Loma was just getting started. He only had a few rounds to you with Rigo before Rigo quit. It was going to get even worse for Rigo if that is possible.

Ya i really dont think ive seen anything remotely like it, especially considering Rigo was considered the more skilled and p4p poasibly better fighter going into it. Im a huge Loma fan, but im a fan of the sport primarily, and i gotta say it got so one sided and embarrassing that it was borderline sadistic, and cant say i truly enjoyed the latter half one bit or at least the last two rounds.

Yes he's just not tough enough mentally for the fight game. He's not a real fighter. He's a *****. He should have stuck to playing a 3 round game of tig. Lomachenko completely ****ing embarrased him.

Loma is the worst possible style for Rigo.

Outboxers rely on range, Loma had the range advantage, footwork, footspeed advantage, his style is calculated in that Loma doesn't overcommit to shot, therefore Rigo couldn't duck away from shots. Loma has one of the best pure boxing skills ever.

Would be closer if they were the same size but Loma would still win. Combine size, height, style and skills advantage and that's what you see.

How would Rigo do against other ATG's? Quite well I think, it depends how well he does with their power. Rafael Marquez, MAB, Hamed, Morales, Pac, Zarate, Harada, Fenech? I think he wins some, lose some. Hard to say as his best win is over a smaller Donaire.

Rigondeaux was old, shot, terribly inactive, and fighting 12 lbs above his natural weight class (at that weight range) against someone in his absolute prime. I still feel Rigondeaux is the better fighter. He just never got a fair chance to prove it.
