    Superb news for Usyk.

At least he won't end up like Whyte.

How the heck did Usyk become WBO mandatory anyway after facing just 2 fighters?

WBO has a rule that says the champions can move up in weight and be made mandatories.
Usyk has been waiting for his shot for 2 years now.

Stripping the WBO off of Joshua would be good for boxing. The only person who really cares about Fury V Joshua being for the undisputed is Joshua. In the grand scheme of things the fight won't be any less important if there was 1 belt missing.

Have Usyk fight Joyce for it. He can then fight another top 10 fighter at the tail end of this year (Whyte, Ruiz, Wilder?) and then a potential fight with the winner of Fury Joshua in 2022. It really would open up a path for some great fights to be made.

Joshua talking retirement clearly shows he isn't in boxing anymore with his heart. He's just there to make money and i think he aims a fight with Tyson Fury with a big crowd later this year or even in 2022 considering the horrible Covid-19 situation in the UK. Might be his last one as Fury will completly destroy him. I guess Usyk vs. Joshua won't happen anytime soon. I don't think Joshua will fight Usyk anyway. Not necessarily because he's afraid or ducking him but Hearn won't let him. Risk-reward-ratio is just horrible for the Matchroom Ca$hcow. If he wins, he doesn't get any credit because people will say "Usyk ain't a HW" and it'll be close most likely and tough. And if he loses the Fury fight is off the table and he (and Eddie the Eagle) loses the biggest payday of his life. So Usyk vs. Joshua isn't happening before Fury vs. Joshua and i can not see Fury vs. Joshua happen anytime soon with Covid-19 hitting the UK worse and worse. I strongly doubt Hearn makes this fight in the UK with a limited crowd like 1000 people or even completly behind closed doors. HW Division is in a horrible situation right now imo. They should take away the WBO title and make Usyk vs. Joyce or Usyk vs. Parker or even Usyk vs. Ruiz ffs.

Usyk and Matchroom are apparently on very good terms. They agreed to give him 3 fights and good money to build his profile ready for a potential AJ fight. Usyk is doing whats right for him holding his cards close to his chest.

My guess is the deal to be made is pay Usyk a couple of million and agree to vacate the belt within 24 hours of Fury vs AJ. Agree to put on the Usyk vs Joyce fight within 6-8 weeks of the fight and agree that if whoever wins the rematch for AJ vs Fury they sign to fight Usyk next.

Didn’t Wilder admit he ducked AJ. Also Wilder can’t box and has awful defence.
