I think if Firpo came out the same way he did against Dempsey this would be a brutal 5 round festival of asskickery and badassitude. I'd be very interested to see how Rocky would deal with a fighter as big, strong, awkward and powerful as Firpo. Rocky wins, by the way.
This would obviously be a war. I don't think it would be as quick or exciting as Dempsey Firpo though. More a Frazier Bonavena type afair. Marciano would probably take it based on his defense of all things. In a slug fest of this type the guy who slips more punches generally gets broken down last. I could see it going to the scorecards though Marciano might end it sooner.
Firpo would be there to be hit all night long, and Marciano would counter him to death. Chop, chop, chop, over in two or three rounds.
Marciano wins but he struggles more than Dempsey imo as he lacked a lot of his traits. Firpo has the power to win, but not the skills to put it to use.
Marciano wouldn't have been nearly as sloppy as Dempsey was. He might take a bit longer to get the KO than Dempsey, but without the flashes of competitiveness.
