From the 1980’s to the 2000’s American athletes were accused of having failed drug tests hidden and were still allowed to compete regardless. Today the Americans are still doing it no doubt. The Russian Ban was more so politically motivated especially after the Annexation of the Crimea. Every country in the world has their way of cheating, the WADA has focused on Russia due to them being a geopolitical American Foe.

Carl Lewis himself has said that everyone was treated the same when it came to drug use, everyone was allowed to get away with it. All the most prolific drug users in history were American. The NFL itself didnt start testing for HGH until recently.

Perhaps Kovalev finally turned to PEDs when a sub MW once known for gassing came in as a tank, never tired and put him out with two punches near the end of the fight.

If you look carefully you will see cork plugs in Canelo's ears when he boxes. The cork is there to keep the magic potion from sloshing out.

 

All athletes everywhere use PED’s to stay at the top level, some use cheap government made drugs, others use more sophisticated private designer drugs made by individual companies, some countries have more up to date methods of cheating to pass drug tests, others still use the same Cold war era tactics, how and why are irrelevant. You cant expect to be a great athlete competing against the rest without leveling the playing field and using yourself.

As for the Russia ban, it was politically motivated.

Kovalev is what 38?? That means there’s a good chance his testosterone is now naturally low , if he went to a doctor and came up low on test, then doctor prescribed testosterone cypionate injections , that’s it.
