Good point. But he is seen as number 4 in one of the worst heavyweight era in boxing history....just like covidkin, if his pro career had begun 15 years earlier, you’d have never heard of him.
And he is ranked 98th heavyweight of all time.... I think covidkin should be listed 110th heavyweight of all time and whyte 203th heavyweight of all time.

From what i've heard Sasha will withdraw from the rematch shortly before they meet .
It would be a massive **** you for all the bad talk.
Believe this truly would send Whyte into a depression and it would effectively finish his run as a contender.

In a neutral location with an unbiased referee who enforced the rules Wlad would have been either DQ'ed or KO'ed in that fight.

If the ref had told Wlad if he keeps holding then it's a DQ there would have been no other choice than to fight Povetkin at close range and with Wlad's chin it's only ending one way. Wlad was very good at keeping smaller, slower, less skilled opponents at distance with his jab/footwork and thus keeping his glass safe but with Povetkin he was in with an opponent who was good enough to close the distance consistently which is why he had to resort to constant holding and wrestling.

    Say Pov wins, What's next.

Doesn't winner of that fight become Fury's mandatory?

Does Pov take that fight? Personally I can't see him or Whyte beating Fury or AJ, and that fight seems like it would be down the road, after AJ Fury and even Wilder Fury 3 seems more likely to happen than seeing the WBC mandatory fight. by that time Pov could be 42-43.

Personally I don't think he gets past Whyte, but hey I had Whyte to win the first fight so who knows.

Whyte and Hearn got lucky, unfortunately. Whyte got time to recover and Povetkin got sick and older.
Hopefully Whyte gets Covid and the fight is postponed until it is not viable. Then Whyte dies of Covid.
If Whyte doesn't die of Covid, perhaps a Wilder fight is more lucrative and he jumps to that and gets KO'd cold again.
If Povetkin does fight Whyte, there's still a chance he can bomb him out, so let's not lose all hope.

As for the Wlad Povetkin match, Wlad is definitely capable of beating Povetkin fair and square, but the reason Wlad disgraced himself with those tactics in one of the most anticipated match-ups is because HE knew that Povetkin had the skills and power to take him out. So anyone saying Wlad wouldn't ever lose to Povetkin without the ridiculous flying octopus grappling needs to see that Wlad himself didn't believe that.

Even though I'm a Klitschko fan, I think Wlad should have lost that fight by DQ for repeated fouls. The referee was incompetent to allow it.

He could but its certainly not definite. . The thing with all that back humping is , he is not only protecting his glassy chin , but he also catching rest periods.
If he had to fight Povetkin off with clean boxing round after round he would succumb to fatigue like he did against Brewster.
Without any illegal octopus grabs , i would favour Povetkin to cut through him with hooks to the body and head.

Stop underestimating Povetkin he’s had a stellar amateur career and was more than good enough to be a world champion. He’d have beat Fury the night he fought Cunningham probably sparked him out with an overhand right. Fury’s own father admitted that Povetkin would have destroyed Tyson if he had taken that fight instead of Wallin, said he had no jab, movement and his timing was way off and admitted Povetkin would have exploited that badly. BT didn’t upload that to YouTube shamefully though but I’ll always remember Fury’s own father saying that and you will have too.

Povetkin is a better fighter than Tommy Morrison but every boxing fan knows him. Under the right circumstances Povetkin was good enough to be a world champ in any era. Don’t be ignorant and say “nobody would have knew him.” He’s a quality fighter.

    He was unlucky:

    - It takes two years to have his first title shot against Wlad and we know how the fight went.
    - It takes a long time to land a fight against Wilder which is canceled.
    - And finally the fight against Joshua comes at least a year too late for him.
