There's been a string of really good BIF articles but this one seems a bit bizarre... Nicky Piper had the best jab? Dan Sherry the best footwork? Reggie Miller the smartest? Thoughts? https://www.ringtv.com/180269-best-i-faced-nigel-benn/
Interesting. Benn always came across as very strait forward and honest. He didnt hold back in his autobiography like alot of guys have. He was in the ring with them so I'll take him by his word even though it may seem strange to a fan. Alot of fighters suprise us with these type of Q&A formats
He seems honest enough when he gives Watson the best defencem Malinga the best boxer and Eubank the best chin. And while it's a bit supiscious how often the best is someone they've beat, McClellan doesn't seem that far fetched. He was a monster and that was probably Benn's best performance, even though the outcome was tragic.
He has a lot of admiration for Geralds ability and fond thoughts of Eubanks I’m beginning to forget why I disliked Benn. If it wasn’t for the persistent rabbit punching and his terrible rap I might have been a fan.
Certainly showed dog fighting ******* Gerald what it is like to be in a fight matched with someone who can fight back. Karma Baby,
Sherry was awkward to catch up with, always using the ring and changing direction. Benn walked him onto a perfect short counter right though, great KO. And Piper did have success against Benn with the left hand leaning back, at times, just not near as much success as Malinga had both fights in bringing jabs up from the hips against Benn's ducking style (with a better trainer, Benn could've parried downward those long Sugar Boy jabs in the second fight instead of lowering into them again.)
