The best division for one punch KO is heavyweight, First thing...mainly because the slower Heavyweight opponent is more likely to absorb most the psi of the punch making a perfect KO. At Flyweight nobody is out of shape, they are harder to catch with a full impact PSI punch, most the PSI si wasted because they are either moving & when landed clean they are simply too light of a target to absorb the full-psi.... The few exceptions of clean KOs is when they are caught coming in. A Smart bomb opposed to a MOAB This content is protected
Speed: Not exact but those are estimates...the punch speed will vary, but the punch peaks at the terminal speed, #1 shorter reach, #2 skinnier arms allow for more speed. Psi based on Reach~Height x Speed : Reach increases psi on the expense of speed, some long reach punchers fix this by never using their full reach & they end up fighting at short range Height is primary, with clear restrictions 5'6" can't reach 900 psi 5'9" can't reach 1000 psi At heavyweight it remains open because most are bulky or lardy, whioch takes away lots of speed potential. Deontay Wilder being the most explosive at 207lbs and his frame, a scaled up version of Deontay Wilder can reach 1500psi which will results in KO victories even when punches don't land clean. RAW psi vs Effective Delivery Edgar Berlanga or Thomas Hearns single punch has more psi than Tyson/Tua. Mike Tyson & Tua did what Any Ruiz did, the only difference is that Andy Ruiz didn't look the part. A 5'10" power-punching boxer who can find a way to land clean can score the KO, most times a good heavyweight can stop the smaller framed boxer using a basic jab, keeping them at bay or stopping them in their tracks.
No its not made up, psi is directly correlated with height-reach-speed, its estimates...but not that far off & anybody can measure the speed of a punch, height-reach
Well it is made up. You have to estimate their speed. You have to estimate how much of their weight they are able to transfer to the end of their fist. Wilder taking a windup and lunging into his punch will have a lot more weight than a textbook right hand by Wlad. You have to estimate how much strength. Strength is also a factor which amplifies the above 2. It’s not simple speed x mass since the mass being thrown isn’t a dead weight, it has its own independent push. You have to estimate absorption of the punch. When malignagi punches he punches with a near open hand, he doesn’t want to absorb any of that weight into his fist. How much power your fist, wrist, elbow, shoulders can absorb without giving in and thus relieving some of the impact from the target will affect your power.
Its easy to measure the speed of the punch, especially in HQ footage. Wilder dropping his right hand takes less effort, because he is naturally slim & fast. Wilder punch might start slow and curved, but at the terminal speed its the fastest at Heavyweight (at least from the bigger guys) Physical strength (as in lifting weights)...in boxing can be used for clinching to exhaust an opponent, doesn't help in punching... On the contrary...Excess muscle slows down the punch. Deontay Wilder at 207lbs punched as hard as at 230lbs. He might have lost some stamina as the result of the additional weight. Hearns at 147 punched as hard as Cruiser & so on The illusion of Fighters punching harder moving up in weight, is the result of mastering punching. It just happens that most boxers move up weight as they age.
Fury hasn`t thrown as many power punches in his career as the other fighters on your list, Canelo punches a lot harder now than he did before his second bout v GGG.
