All the current sanctioning bodies should be eliminated and replaced by one non-profit independent (of promoters, fighters, etc.) sanctioner with one world title per division. There can still be national and regional titles but titles should narrow to one at the top. There should be continuous testing of licensed fighters. Boxing's survival and relevance depends on radical change.
I think the least BS / drama, the IBF, but the best ratings IMO...WBC. they should rate Joshua but money makes fools.
They're all really bad. At least, as of this moment, the IBF and WBO only have 1 'major belt' each. But that's not to say there is anything inherently superior about them beyond that. All 4 alphabet bodies scratch each other's backs to allow the racket to thrive.
Well, I seem to recall the IBF stripping Tyson Fury a month after beating Wlad because he hadn't signed to fight Czar Glazkov fast enough (remember Czar?). Remember how happy everyone was about that? I also seem to recall the IBF stripping Gennady Golovkin for agreeing to a unification rematch with Canelo Alvarez, because they wanted Golovkin to fight Derevyanchenko. Then Derevyanchenko fought Jacobs for the vacant IBF belt, and lost. Canelo fought Jacobs to unify, beat him. Then the IBF stripped Canelo for not fighting, guess who, Derevyanchenko. (LOL) Then Derevyanchenko fought Golovkin for the vacant IBF belt and LOST. And, for good measure, the WBC champ Charlo gave Derevyanchenko a crack at that belt and Derevyanchenko lost that, too. (LOL) Seems like the big "scandal" regarding all those strips were Fury, Golovkin and Canelo didn't sign to fight Czar Glaznov or Derevyanchenko fast enough for the IBF's liking, which are two "hills that didn't seem worth dying on" ... as the saying goes. Still not sure what all that mess was about. They sure bent over backwards for those guys.
I think it was actually a mere 10 days after he beat Wlad. And if I recall, the IBF reign of Michalczewski was even shorter.
