Bit left of centre this for Frank Warren. Signed 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist and 2017 World Gold Medalist Sofianne Oumiha https://boxrec.com/en/worldseriesboxer/850290 Wins over Teofirmo Lopez, Joe Cordona, Luke McCormak and Callum French.
http://www.15rounds.com/french-amateur-superstar-sofiane-oumiha-signs-for-queensberry/ Interesting this is for Queensbury Poland, I know Francis said they had a few big signings at the end of last season. Could be very interesting if this is the sort level they will be pitching.
So he has just gone professional and will be 27 later this year. Unlike many amateurs who turn professional late, has he got the mindset and style to be a world level professional?
He looked pretty aggressive in the videos I have seen. They have sent they want him fighting for a belt of sorts first up. So guessing a WBO Euro or something like that. If these are the type of lads francis will sign for the Polish arm of Queensbury it could be quite entertaining
Recent experience has shown that signing amateurs as professionals who dont have that nasty side to them, and arent offensive, often leads to disappointment. From what you are saying this kid has what it takes to make the transition. Definitely promoters are weary of amateurs who based their success off playing tag and run. I also notice he has WSB experience which is a good sign.
Very good signing, and we would be going bezerk if he was british turning pro with the experience he has got. Could be a sign of things to come with Queensbury, which will be interesting.
Tbh, I was surprised by the total lack of interest when I first posted this. Think it is a cracking sign of intent.
Really good signing on paper, anyone with those names on there record in the amateurs is obviously a very talented fighter
This content is protected New recruit on Queensburys 2nd ever Polish show. Good to see Ramblesetta getting an outing as well
https://boxing-social.com/news/sofiane-oumiha-a-unique-year-ahead/ Interesting, this professional bow next month, but still going to the Olympics if it's on. Be a great promotional tool for Queensbury
No idea how they are gonna market a North African-French muslim lightweight in Poland Dzmitry Asenau from Belarus is also a elite lightweight amateur who has beat Oumiha, I think that would have been a more logical better signing.
