The best fight to watch in that arena would be watching the people who were trying to force Foreman into the ring and Foreman fighting to stay out. It'd take a lot of men to get a terrified 250 pound man into a ring. Foreman was not into his comeback to fight dangerous or tough fights.

He'd have retired again before he would get into the ring with Ruddock. Hard to believe that some believe that Foreman's comeback was about a man trying to fight the best. Guess it's the same as the ones combining 70s Foreman and comeback Foreman into one fighter, taking the best of each to make a fighter who never existed.

Yeah, I mean it was beyond disappointing when he lowered himself enough to fight an all-time great in Holyfield.

    True.

I don't think Foreman would have made it past Holmes in the late '70s, much less the early 80s. It would have been a great fight to watch, though.

These people are idiots. There's no other explanation. Instead of fighting the prime undefeated undisputed champion for a guarantee of $12 million, apparently Foreman should have fought a 1 armed brainless zero defense slugger for less money (probably less than $2 million) and no belts. Ruddock would have been more of a challenge than a top 10 worthy ATG Holyfield.

Instead of fighting Morrison for the vacant WBO Championship and $7 million dollars, he should have gone over to the U.K to fight Bruno (who had no belts and several embarrassing losses). He should have resurrected the corpse of the inactive Ruddock who had gotten his ass kicked by Tyson twice.

Instead of fighting undefeated prime Moorer for 2 belts and the lineal championship for $3 million dollars, he should have fought the Big scary James "Boneclutcher" Smith who lost every time he stepped up and had no belts. Foreman didn't want to get in the ring with a guy who could bang, but he wasn't too scared to fight the guy who won a Unanimous decision over Smith AND beat Holyfield (who beat Foreman previously)...!

If mental gymnastics was a sport, these people would have more gold medals than Michael Phelps.

Yeah - The anti-Foreman bias is pronounced through strange extremes, by some. It's funny, weird and sad, all at the same time.

Fore example, like that extreme version. But yeah, pretty weird too.

Have you ever seen a fighter going 1-2 and a fourth fight as close as even, then putting that 1-2-1 fighter 1-2 classes above the fighters he lost to H2H?
Thats pretty extreme to say at least.

Foreman knocked out Moorer by baiting him and softening him up the entire time. He set up the knockout brilliantly. You didn't watch the fight  It doesn't matter what the scorecards say if you knock out your opponent and you do so by slowly breaking them down without them realizing it.

He beat Stewart. Best you could argue is a draw in Stewart's favor, but Stewart absolutely did not win that fight. Foreman was also nearly 50 years old and yet he had the much younger Stewart getting on his bicycle and running whenever he got hit by a flush bomb. I'd love to see a nearly 50 year old Ruddock or Smith try to fight Stewart. That doesn't exactly knock his h2h standing down anymore than old Holmes struggling with Brian Nielsen or Holyfield struggling with Valuev.

He was clearly robbed against Briggs. He put on a clinic and was in complete control from start to finish. Again, you'd know that if you watched the fight. Yes he should definitely be ranked ahead of Briggs h2h. Briggs didn't legitimately beat any heavyweights worth a damn except for Liakhovich. He lost anytime he stepped up.

Great points. Besides the obvious robbery, I felt cheated with the Briggs fight because I wanted to see George fight like that more. He seemed to have mastered his jab to a level not too far removed from Liston and Holmes imo. I wanted to see him try that out on a few more contenders. He wasn't swinging as heavy in his old age, but his jab was perhaps better than it ever had been overall.

I don´t care what GFs age was. You made the H2H assessment with that same GF.
So its a draw with Stewart and Briggs lost. Ok.

    "A tier: Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis
    B tier:
    This content is protected
, Mercer, Tua, Byrd, post prison Tyson, Rahman,
C tier: Ruiz, Ruddock, Golota, Morrison (loss), Bruno, Briggs, McCall, Moorer (loss 7/9, then win)
D tier: Cooper, Seldon, Biggs, Stewart (draw), Hide

Unless you think prime Ruddock is as good as Holyfield, Bowe, or Lewis, he's not "leagues ahead" of Foreman h2h."

He´s 1-1-1 now and one step above the 50/50 fellows and two steps above his draw.

Maybe what we really need was a thread to put prime Foreman against his names of the 90s, or did we have that any time recently.

I said best you could argue is the Stewart fight was a draw. I never said I considered it a draw, I literally wrote that "Stewart absolutely did no win that fight". Your reading comprehension is horrible and you think "obvious" is spelled with an a.

He beat Moorer so I don't know why you keep bringing up him losing rounds as if that means anything.

You are almost as horrible as Sauhund. Boring and predictable, easy work. I'm done responding. You do not know how to debate and you constantly use logic fallacies and clearly have no clue what happened in the fights you are arguing about.

Sure, lets change any close fight into the direction of Foreman? Well well well, I smell a little bias again :eusa_whistle:
Its pretty easy to see how inapplicable that H2H list of yours is, whatever way to try to weasel.

You know what? Maybe you and Sauhund2 ease their position on 90s GF a little and move closer to the middle, what about that.

Ruddcok can't win a decision. He doesn't throw enough punches. Low punch output, loading up while also telegraphed his hookercut. He was also off balance quite often, hence he visited the canvas on a regular basis.
People that have watched Ruddock fight know what I'm talking about. I'm not making this **** up. He was a talented yet very flawed fighter.
He's gonna spend the evening eating Foreman's jab which was a heavy powerful jab. Eventually Foreman is gonna find a home for his right hand. He could time Ruddock. Experience, ring savvy, skill, even strength in Foreman's favor. Not to mention two handed attack.
Like any job, the man who knows what he is doing is gonna win.
